NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 10 7-1 Texans at 7-1 Chicago. The proof will be in the pudding.
November 5, 2012, 04:32 AM
This is it, this is the time for the Bears to really prove themselves. This weeks game the Bears and Texans are out to prove who are some of the elite teams in the NFL. Granted the Falcons are undefeated, but the Bears and Texans are close behind with only one win each.

This week's game is super important to both teams. Add in the fact that the Bears play the 49'rs next week and the Bears could be facing two losses in the next two weeks. So these next two weeks are the incacators of just how good our Bears really are and just how far they might go in the playoffs.

Two wins and it will be proof to all doubters. One win and one loss and there will be some questions. Two losses and some people will be ready to start burying the Bears. Will this last overpowering game against the Titans make the Bears overconfident? What do you think? GO BEARS!!!!

The Bears have a rough schedule to traverse and IMO will defiantly tell us exactly where the Bears are as a team. The final schedule is full of playoff caliber teams, Texans, @San Fran, Minn, Seattle, @Minn, G.B., @Arizona and @Detroit.

These final 8 games will decide if we Bears fans can remain as excited about the Bears chances this season as we have through he first part of the season. Will determine if us fans can crow or cry.............LOL

The final eight weeks will determine playoff seeding, and unless the Bears have a total collapse just as they has last year...they should make it...Home field advantage will make them a top contender.

Finally..a good sunday night game!

The Bears are sitting good at 7-1 but need to finish strong. They lost to Green Bay earlier in the season and need a win against them in case of a tie. Unfortunately it looks dismal for us Cowboy fans and our hopes keep fading every week.

You guys know, at least BG and GSH1, that my wife's family are Bears fans, being that she's from Illinois. I wish the Bears the best of luck.........with one exception............The Texans. I have to have one Texas team to pull for, since the Cowboys are heading for mediocrity.

Other than that one game, I hope the Bears can roll on!. The toughest games, other than the Texans, will be the 49'ers and the Packers...... The Bears should handle the others with ease.

I think we can count on the Defense to keep playing well. Oh I don't expect the scoring to continue on defense, but I do expect them to keep getting the turnovers that they have been getting.

However the offense really needs to start pulling their own weight. We need scoring and ball control offense more than ever against these quality opponents. I'm hoping that the return of Alshon Jefferies will help, but we need the offensive line to start doing a better job. Against these better teams they will most definately take advantage of our O-line if they can. GO BEARS!!!

that would suggest an 8-8 record, but I don't see it. I think Otis got it right when he changed his prediction to 5-11.

Anyway..GO BEARS!!!

I'm picking the Texans by 14. They have been great except for the lacklustre performance against the Packers.

Lacklustre performance? I'm sure the Packers had a lot to do with their lacklustre performance.

I can like more than one team. In fact, I like most teams anyway....:-)

But, I am proud of Wade Phillips. He's a hometown boy, and he's done good since being fired............

Well now it's great to have so many people to converse with about this upcomming game. If the Packers could make the Texans look bad get ready for the Bears to do the same thing or worse!

This Bears team is easily the best team we have had since our most recent Super Bowl trip a few years ago. They probably are better than them and I've seen comparisons of this year's defense being compared to the 85 Bears!!! I doubt that, but I'm pleased with the comparison.

Our offense might be better than them if the O-line plays effectively. I can see that in the next few drafts and free agency's this area will be a major area of improvement for the team. So what I'm saying is that this team will ONLY get better in the next few years. Add in the fact that the skill players will only get better with more practice together and it comes to only one conclusion.

WATCH OUT for the Bears in the next few years to the ENTIRE NFL!!! Because I firmly believe YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!!! GO BEARS!!!

Jerry fired the wrong person...Jason Garrett is not a leader of men.
He is 16-17 as head coach...Until he is fired, The Dallas Cowboys will not be competitive.

I mentioned in the beginning of the season my worry was the O-Line and IMO it's still what's holding the offense back. They have to keep T.E.'s in to block and even Forte chipping, basically max protect on most obvious passing downs and the pass rush still gets to the Q.B. before the W.R.'s can get open. Until this is resolved we can expect the offense to continue to struggle, it all starts in the trenches, Emery has to look to address the O-Line for next season. In the meantime Tice and Bates have to scheme for the players and protection they have. They need to be more consistent sustaining drives and moving the chains in order to get to and in the playoffs, especially with such a difficult back end schedule.

The defense has surprised me and playing better than I expected, they are carving their own niche though and different than both the 06 and 85 defenses. This team is on par with the 06 team that got beat by the Manning led Colts in Superbowl XLI but not the 85 team IMO and a totally different philosophy.

Jason Carrot was a back up QB his entire career. There had to be a reason for it. But, JJ has gone on record that he supports Carrot, and likely will at least until the end of the 2013 season.

The Cowboys have steadily gone downhill since the 13-3 season (which should have been 15-1), and they missed their chance then, to bring home a Lombardi. If they wouldn't have taken vacations, and had taken care of their business, who's to say they couldn't have won that SB? JJ had his chance, and now it's come back to haunt him.

This thread isn't about the Cowboys, tho...but about the Bears, so I'll shush on the 'Boys..........lol
