~~Jimmy Johnson sets record straight about his time with Cowboys: ???I had complete and total responsibility over the football operation,??? not Jerry Jones~~

Interesting read here...something everyone already knew, but was finally admitted. I can't say I blamed Johnson for departing the premises.

Anyone who is able, feel free to make the link clickable. I don't remember how.

I can't argue with that...........

Amazing how a team that went 2-14 in 2011 and is now on the verge of a playoff appearance after letting go of a All World QB and the head coach. Congratulations to the Colts fans, and good luck.

The Cowboys will be mediocre until JJ leaves, one way or another. That is a given.

But we already knew that and that's why idiot JJ sent Jimmy packing because Jimmy got all the credit. As Costas said Sunday night, the one constant through the horrible last 15 years has been the GM.

November 9, 2012  07:45 PM ET

The simple fact that Al Davis and Jerry Jones were close friends speaks volumes.

Yeah, that's what I said, but it's just now being confirmed..............lol

I know. Al taught him everything he knows. Well, the 'later in years' Al anyway.

Roger Staubach has joined the Jerry Jones "bashing"!........Hahahahahahaha

However, I doubt the status quo will change until JJ is incapable of doing anything, even breathing. But, it is nice to see this anyway.

I'm a diehard Texans fan and we are very fortunate to have an owner that hires football people to run the team and is content to just sign the checks.

glad Jimmy came out and set the record straight..... even though everyone knew this. JJ needed to hear Jimmy say it. we dallas fans are stuck in JJ land for a long time, unfortunately, cause he isn't going anywhere for the next decade or so.

Yes, you are.

I saw him, Jerry, both teams's cheerleaders, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnutt,Tracy Lawrence, and one other music artist (think his name was Zona Jones?) at a Labor Day Fest they had in Beaumont, Tx. a few years ago. It was all FREE, and we had a good time!

Of course, Jerry had to make a speech, but I got up close to check out the cheerleaders, and left the wife sitting in our chairs..........hahahaha

The music was outstanding as well

Staubach even got in on the "bashing".

But, after the game last evening against the Eagles, JJ's gonna say "Ain't nuttin' wrong with this team!"

agree... and after they beat the browns he will think playoffs. and maybe IF we sweep the skins and eagles, it's possible. that would save garrett's job. i'd rather see them lose and get a new HC, but my vote doesn't count.

I'm just going to watch them and cheer when they're winning, or watch them lose and go on to another game afterwards. That's about all we can do. I'm not going to lose any sleep either way.

Carrot will likely get another year, because of what Jerry said about him firing Gailey after 2, so I expect Carrot to be here at least through next year. Maybe they will improve this 2nd half? We will see.

Jerry Jones & Mike Holmgren seems to have strong interest in each other....Jason Garrett has to win at least one playoff game to save his job...the chance that Jerry Jones could be getting his hands on a real NFL Head Coach like Holmgren, and he could deliver Andy Reid as the Offensive Coordinator...Jerry Jones is a great businessman, I can't see him letting this opportunity pass without acting.

Jerry Jones says what he means...and he said the clock was running out on this team...sorry fellas, unless you win one playoff game there will be massive changes, and a playoff berth is a long shot.

Holmgren would bring a 4-3 defense, and the west coast offense...and you will be competitive year 1...something that has never happened under Garrett...He is the problem.

Jerry would have to give Holmgren complete authority over the football program which is something Jones has resisted doing. If Jones tries to meddle I'm sure Holmgren would not stay in Dallas and be a puppet. It is a possibility but a slim one.

Jerry Jones says what he means...

Bull!!!

He said there would be no coaching changes in 2003 while he was in New York interviewing Parcells. That's the most glaring example... I'm sure we can come up with more.

Bottom line - Jerry is prone to saying a lot of ridiculous stuff... some of which is so damned incoherent that even the most trained ear around here has to spend time deciphering it.

November 12, 2012  01:37 PM ET

i agree it would seem garrett is under some pressure to produce this season and he has not. it will be tough to make the playoffs, but if he did and got a win surely JJ keeps him. anything short should cost him his job. he's demonstrated he's not ready to HC any team with his "on the job learning." and the leadership this team so badly needed is still lacking under garrett. maybe a compromise of some type between JJ and a new HC can be reached if winning becomes a main goal of this owner.

Holmgren thinks that he can win with Dallas, and can not stand how he was pushed out at Cleveland, for that to be his swan song.

Anybody knows that when you going to coach the Dallas Cowboys...you are only the Coach...Holmgren knows that, and since you are accepting Jerry's rules...you can be looked at too.

From a business point, it makes great since...you have brought hope to a franchise without any new players, that can easily buy three years of good support.

I was pulling for Cincy to beat the Giants. Didn't look like they would, but I'm glad they did. Congrats, EZ!

I know this is a few days late, but I haven't been around much, either.
