I think it is time for Monte Kiffin to go. I understand that his philosophy is to bend but don't break, so giving up a ton of yards isn't all that meaningful. But teams with a decent offense have been able to score more or less at will.
Oregon scored on 9 of 12 meaningful possessions and punted exactly once.
Zona scored on 7 of 15 possessions, including their last four. The last defensive stop we got was with 7 minutes to go in the third quarter.
Stanford scored (or would have scored if they had a decent FG kicker) on 6 of 13 possessions.
We gave up 122 points in those three games alone; the '08 team gave up fewer points over the entire season.
And the deflated footballs is pretty much the last straw for me concerning Lane. That, along with the sideline jersey change against the Buffs screams bush league.
This program used to travel to places like the Horseshoe and the Plains and beat quality teams by playing better football--no gimmicks, no swinging gate extra point silliness.
As the scholarship reductions start to bite, we are likely going to be a .500 team at best in the next few years. I'd rather see the team play solid fundamental football in a losing effort than resort to rule-bending to try and gain an edge over fellow mediocre teams. This program is better than that, but I'm not sure LK will do the right things on and off the field.

I agree. I had a "wait and see" attitude about him when peeps were on him the first year, and the 2nd... last year I thought "maybe it's starting to click", but nothing that 'clicked' the last half of last year is this year. But no, it's not there.
One could say he's just used to the NFL game and hasn't grasped the college offenses. What about Stanford? That is exactly what this D is designed to stop, and they haven't.
Lane? (shakes head). What can you say? Don't let the door hit you? The one thing that makes me even hesitate is God he can put together a bunch of recruiters.

I can forgive a kid some stupidity, or selfishness, and have. But they need examples at the top.
I had/have high hopes in Pat H that he will keep this program in line with what it has been in my 50 years as a fan; a class act, through and through.
Ah this inflating and deflating is a load of crap, now if they are giving the other team flat balls well now that,s something else but a pound up or down should be the discretion of the people handling the ball that,s just a little bit petty, but now one thing you can say about Lame Kitten he,ll look for any kinda trick hahahaha.....
