NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > 49er/Rams Officials

The officials for the Niners-Rams game seemed to do very little to distinguish themselves. The measurement for first down while the clock was running was the most obvious. There was one other mistake that seemed major to me. In overtime, the Niners took their first possession and drove down for a potential game-winning field goal. San Francisco missed the kick. However, the officials spotted the ball at the line of scrimmage for the Rams rather than at the spot of the kick per NFL rule. I don't know if it made a difference or not but, the Rams missed long, potentially game winning kick of their own that could have been attributed to its distance which was 58 yards. A delay of game penalty pushed it back from 53. Did anyone else see this faux pas or was it just a figment of my imagination?

The clock running during the spot of the ball was a major mistake that probably cost one team the game. I am not sure which one because that game got aweful clowny at the end. No one deserved to win. LOL

It would not matter. Each team found countless ways to shoot themselves in the foot. This game in the grand scheme of the Universe was meant to be tied.
