Surely we won't see a repeat of last year's unbelievable playoff game, right? I hope for the same outcome, with the Niners being victorious. But it is hard to say who should be favored right now. Will Aldon Smith be effective this week? I expect him to receive more attention this week and Willis will have his hands full with Jimmy Grahm so the pass rush will be reliant on CB and Safety scemes to get at Brees. Other than that, we can hope for a big day from Amad Brooks and Bowen.

On the offensive side, I see Gore having a big day, but not confident in the passing game. I can see penalties and turnovers being a problem in this one, but hope I'm wrong. I think Alex Smith is the smart choice for this one though it looks like Harbaugh will be going with Kaepernick. I am torn on this one because I love the energy Kapernick brings, but I don't think he is quite ready to replace Alex Smith. The Saints do have the worst pass defense in the league, so either QB should have success minus stupid penalties and turnovers. This is the reason I want Smith to start. His experience is more important than Kaepernick's talents at this point in the season.

Side note: NFL Network is showing last year's playoff game between the 49ers and Saints at 2:30 ET

Stupid NFL Network. Set the dvr for the replay of Saints and Niners and they changed it to the Texans vs Lions. Really pisses me off. And yay! Spam is back.

Well. Amad Brooks did have a good game. But so did Aldon Smith. 16.5 for the year.... In the end, the Niners played a great game. Wasn't happy with some of the play calling early, but a win is a win and this was a big win on the road.

Now we will see if we can win the tie breaker vs the Rams. You know, the 2nd game between the two.
