Okay, so far I've heard that the Cardinals:

1) Talked to the agent for Marco Scutaro. Not a bad add for the right price, but I'm guessing that his price is high after his tremendous post-season. I'm not sure I'm crazy about this idea.

2) Have interest in Scott Hairston. I'd like to see this one happen. He'd be a great bendh addition and late inning pinch-hitter from the right side that we were sorely missing last year.

3) Remain interested in Sean Burnett, but not at a four year length of contract.

Looks like Scutaro is off the table, but I am warming to the idea of Stephen Drew. I think he could be a steal, given the way he played at the end of 2012.

So Randy Choate answers the question of a second left in the 'pen; next question to be addressed is the middle infield.

Reads like Descalso isn't considered to have the offense to be a regular option at 2B and if Kolten Wong is still a year away, do the Cards need to bring in and infielder if Matt Carpenter can't fill the 2B role in 2013?

Who do the Cards bring in as a regular alternative in case Furcal struggles or is a no go? I raise this question as I don't consider Pete Kozma a regular option.

That has to hurt for Skip a little bit. Get traded for a AA player that hit .233 last year? Ouch.

Maybe not ... if the Dodgers were his preferred destination, could be the Cards did him a solid by accepting a low level prospect.

Any thoughts on what Ty Wigginton will bring to the team? Not really sure what to make of the signing.

I think he'll bring backup versatility to a number of positions and be a right handed bat with a little bit of power off the bench. That is something we didn't have last year.

It is a decent signing in my opinion, although I probably would have preferred Scott Hairston.

I would like to see Scutaro in Cardinal Red. What is his price tag?

Scutaro already signed a 3 year, $20M deal to return to the Giants. Quite a bit for a middle infielder his age, but I guess you reap the rewards when you have a great post-season like he did.
