NFL  > Arizona Cardinals  > WEEK #16- TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE AND ALL THRU THE HOUSE......
December 18, 2012, 12:49 PM
SATURDAY 12/22/12

falcons @ LIONS - Time to rest those weary wings, Falcons. I will now hypnotize you into a athletic trance of..... Rest Week , Play hard , Rest Week, Play hard. Otherwise you will be one and done in the playoffs.

SUNDAY 12/23/12

raiders @ PANTHERS- Lots of passing TD's and INTS in this game.

bills @ DOLPHINS- Bills playout the season trying to move up in the draft.

bengals @ STEELERS- This is do or die for both teams. There is an outside chance that Cincinnati could lose and then beat Baltimore and hope that Cleveland beats the Steelers, Santa Clause does not take those kinds of wishes.

PATRIOTS @ jaguars- Patriots are now in cruise control status, they are still cursing the schedule maker who had them playing both Harbaugh brothers on Sunday nights. New England was 0-2 vs Harbaughs on Sunday Night. For all you nuns out there you need to break the habit of watching football on Sunday nights when you should be at the nunnery.

COLTS @ cheifs- they wrap up the #5 seed in the AFC with a win.

SAINTS @ cowboys - don't worry Cowboy fans, your division will be settled next week.

REDSKINS @ eagles - Redskins know they must win there next 2 games to win the NFC East.

RAMS @ Buccaneers- Yes the Rams are still in the playoff hunt for a wild card, Tampa Bay is not.

VIKINGS @ texans - I predict that if the Vikings win they will become a Wild Card Seed, they lose and their season is over and all those Peterson rushing yards will be for NOT.

giants @ RAVENS - John Harbaugh has lost 3 games in a row. He has never lost 2 back to back home games as a coach. Do your brother a favor and eliminate the NYG's from the playoff picture.

browns @ BRONCOS- The Browns have gotten 3 of their 5 wins against the AFC West. Can the Browns now sweep the AFC West by beating the Broncos?

BEARS @ cardinals- The Bears win their next 2 games and they are in the playoffs, if they lose to Arizona or Detroit they don't deserve to be in the playoffs- the one thing that could trip them up, both games are on the road- if they make the playoffs they would still have to play every game on the road- that could mean up to 5 consecutive road games- so far they are 3-3 on the road.

CHARGERS @ jets- The winner of this game will keep their Head Coach next year.

49ER'S @ seahawks- The Seahawks have 2 things going for them this week, 1) Homefield 2) the 49ers have not won more than 2 games in a row this season. What the 49ers have going for them? The 49ers thrive on Prime Time games- they are 5-0 this season, Harbaugh is 3-0 vs Carroll as a NFL coach and the 49ers really want to get the #2 seed in the NFC.

If at the end of the season all six of these teams has a 10-6 or 9-7 record- Washington, Dallas, NYG's, Seattle, Minnesota and Chicago.

First of all it is impossible for 6 teams to end up with 10-6 records either Dallas or Washington will win the NFC East with a 10-6 record.

If Dallas and Washington were to tie 9-6-1 and everyone else has a 10-6 record, then NYG's would win the NFC East and neither the Redskins or Cowboys would make the playoffs.

If everyone has a 9-7 record and the Redskins and Cowboys were to tie the Redskins would win the NFC East and the Cowboys would win a Wild Card Spot- along with the NYG's.

In both scenarios of 9-7 or 10-6 the 2 teams that win all the Wild Card Tiebreakers are the Seahawks ( they have beaten Dallas, Minnesota, Chicago) and Giants ( have the best NFC record ) . So if you are a fan of Atlanta, Green Bay, San Francisco, Washington, Dallas, Seattle, Minnesota, or Chicago, the one team that could really upset your chances of making the playoffs is if NYG's beat Baltimore. That is the one game you should be hoping NYG's lose. Seattle wins all tie breakers except one- NYG's have more NFC wins than Seattle.

The Giants are not that good of a team and not a team to fear unless you are the Patriots facing them in the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys finally started to do something, albeit likely a bit late. Consider that over half (6) of the defensive starters are on IR. Not sure about the offensive side right now. Yeah, injuries are supposedly a "no excuse" thing, but that's BS. Injuries will, and do, affect a team's play.

Maybe it's best this way? Considering that the backups and street pickups are getting valuable playing time this year, then come next year, it should be a piece of cake substituting players without missing a beat. Not just for the Cowboys, but other teams dealing with an exorbitant amount of injuries this year.

Just a thought.

Narry,

Thanks,EZ, but if I had anything to do with anything, the Cowboys would be undefeated.........lol

However, I know what you mean, and hopefully the Bengals can make the playoffs, even if the Cowboys don't.
