Is it a start of things to come or is it just a move to appease the Cowboys faithful?

Bob Ryan can join his brother in New York.

Gil Brandt is hinting there are more changes to come. Guess we'll see.

I'm not a fan of the Ryans at all ...But why fire him after all the injuries that they had on defense? And after Romo AGAIN crumbled under pressure (which I called before the game) with the team needing only one more win to get into the playoffs? My money is on all these changes that Jerry Jones is making backfiring on his team and making the team even worse. Why?Because, well ... it's Jerry Jones!

I'm not a fan of the Ryan's either, esp. Buddy. Jerrah Jones said he regrets not giving Chan Gailey another year ( 2 years, both times making the playoffs), and fired him after the 2nd. Ryan had only 2 years. You can't expect much in the first, and this 2nd was underscored with too many injuries to the starters.

What a circus Jones has..........and I've been a Cowboys fan for over 45 years. I miss the days of Landry and company.

Jones and Jason Carrot deserve every bit of mediocre seasons they can get.

Like Ezekiel and I'm sure many others...I'm no fan of the Ryans, but given the injuries to the defense I doubt anyone could have done anything more with what he had to work with. I'd rather have seen Garrett shoved out the door first!!! JJ is just trying to use Ryan as a scapegoat for the way JJ put the team together. Very poor O-line, which everyone knew about before training camp and little depth across the board.

looks like rob's going to the jets with his ~evil~ twin....?

There is just not enough canvas to make a tent big enough for those two!!

That didn't appease me...

If this is Jerry's blame game then he fired the wrong coach.

If this is Garrett making the decisions, then I am going to take a wait-and-see attitude. If it means a return to a 4-3 concept, then I'm OK with that also, although now we have to draft players to fit that scheme and take our eye off needs on the O-Line - which is where the focus of this next draft needs to be.

The Cowboys could replace Ryan with Lovie that way JJ would have his next head coach in the waiting. ;)

this is JJ all the way! garrett isn't the one that said uncomfortable changes were coming. garrett doesn't have the bal** to make a decision like this. yep, it's a circus in dallas and a really poor one at that.

Maybe JJ will recall Wade Phillips as the DC?

Wade is DC with the Texans.

Just read this:

Following consecutive 8-8 seasons, Dallas is 128-128 since the start of 1997 season. The Cowboys have just one playoff win in that span.

That's gotta hurt.

January 9, 2013  10:58 AM ET

Maybe JJ should get JJ back, as in Jimmy Johnson.

January 9, 2013  10:59 AM ET

maybe he could become a spokes model for jenny craig!

A stat that all Cowboys fans are acutely aware of... trust me!
