Rumour has it that Jerry Jones is encouraging Jason Garrett to fire his brother John who is the TEs coach and passing game coordinator. JJ's way of forcing the Garretts out of Big D. Is it enough change?

I do find it strange that JJ hired a DC before playing this hand. He did hire Jason before he hired Phillips.

why an assistant would come to dallas with this circus in full force is beyond me. i would have kept ryan.... he's the only one that seems to have a pulse on the sidelines. obviously, jason is safe this year, but another .500 season and this experiment is likely over. that means a new HC and lots of new assistants.

this is classic JJ! who knows what the idiot will do next? but a few tweaks in coaches and players is going to do nothing for this very average team. i suppose they will give romo an extension.... can this bunch get any worse? probably....

That's ^^ Pretty sad how Jones has run the Cowboys into the ground, and continues to do so. In my opinion, with all these changes happening, and about to happen, I don't think he will find this consistency and continuity that he wants, until he gives folks a chance to make their program work

It took Landry 6 years before he started winning consistently.

Landry did it with an expansion team.

That he did.
But, it still took 6 years regardless. Coaches nowadays get 3 years, if that. Chan Gailey and Rob Ryan only got 2 years. Fair? Ahh, skulduggery and throat cutting at work. Sad state of affairs at Valley Ranch.

I've been reading that Ryan was targeted at being let go several months ago....how true that is, I don't know. Chan Gailey took the Cowboys to the playoffs both years, although they didn't advance far.
Jerry's reaping what he sows.

Jerry has a dismal record for the past 17 years but his bank account continues to grow.

What's sad is that JJ tried to rationalize letting Ryan go by using the Seattle and Chicago games as reasons for doing it.

Rob Ryan isn't a big loss as the defense was average at best. The real problem with this team is the OL which has to be addressed.

That's because he's a snake oil salesman, and people believe BS more than they will facts.....especially if they have more money than sense...meaning they'll continue buying tickets, merchandise, etc. etc.

He patched that with some "value"...........and we know how that turned out.

They went into mini-camp last year knowing that the OL was like swiss cheese. If that is not finally their priority No. 1 then you can just go write off the upcoming season.

I agree TX, that OL was a piece of crap and they had better upgrade it or else we will be staring at another lacklustre season.
