Last year, Jim Harbaugh secretly worked out Peyton Manning when Alex Smith was a free agent. It became a not so secret work out which led Alex Smith to seek other offers. Manning finally went to the Broncos and Smith went back to the Niners. But what if Manning had signed with the Niners, would we have seen Kaepernick? Would have Harbough benched Manning for him?
