NBA  > General NBA  > Can Anyone Challenge the Miami Heat?
January 18, 2013, 05:52 PM
There is no question the Miami Heat are the best team in the league, but will anyone from the powerhouse that is the Western Conference be able to challenge the Heat in the finals?

Beating someone during the regular season is 1 thing...

Winning 4 games vs that team is another, especially when that team is adjusting to your play.

It is why with LeBron playing his best basketball ever and the supporting cast around him, that they are only going to be beaten by a team that is on mega fire...

The ONLY team I see doing that, is the Thunder and Miami has won 5 straight games vs them.

I'd say that the only one that I can envision causing any problems for the Heat would have to be the New York Knicks. With the way they have been playing, the Knicks certainly have made themselves front runners for sure. It might bring back the heated rivalries of back in the day. Remember the brawl that was started by LJ and Zo slap fighting.

I don't think the Knicks are from the western conference and I actually don't see them past the second round let alone beating Miami.......

I think San Antonio is going to come from the west. They will challenge Miami but will lose in 6....

I mean, I think anyone can win. Miami is definitely strong and if they keep playing the way they are right now, I think they have the greatest chance to win. But there is always a chance of someone getting injured too. I think Oklahoma City could challenge them, the Spurs could too. Any team could catch fire. I don't know how well the Clippers or Nuggets would do against the Heat in the Finals. I think it all comes down to timing and overall team health.

Miami has one weakness, they rank last in the NBA in rebounds...So a team of bruisers will give them a hard time to go. OKC would lose in 5 games again...now Memphis, San Antonio or Indiana are the only teams that will stop them from repeating as champions.

I totally disagree: To repeat in the NBA: Donot expect the Heat to have a East walkover, but should they ? Top west teams: Spurs, Thunder, Clippers and Nuggets will be to much firepower..Absolutely NO REPEAT for heat and no playoff success for the Laker dreamers!!!

Not only will they repeat no will take them seven games...

Exactly, take the Heat in 6, no matter who makes it out of the west.

Wow: no kidding..same team that several times has looked ordinary..should have no problem..remind posters stuck up Labrons **** Celtics pushed them tothe brink, last season!!!

Where is all the Heat love coming from? As for the Knicks, they will have a battle with the Celts, no question: The knicks are deeper, but to discount vast experience and top coach in the Eastern Conference, could be big mistake..of late Celts have been there..done it..Knicks not yet!!!
