NFL  > General NFL  > SB wins...Steelers have 6, 49'ers may have 6, and the Cowboys?
January 21, 2013, 06:23 PM
The 49'ers could move ahead of the Cowboys in SB wins (as we know them now) should they win the upcoming SB, bringing the 'Boys down to 3rd place, if you will. Both the Steelers and 49'ers would have 6 wins, while the Cowboys are seemingly forever stuck with 5.

In all likelihood, the status quo will remain the same with the Cowboys because of our fearless GM. By the time the Cowboys win another SB, the Arizona Cardinals may have won a few themselves. As with any red blooded fan, I've always wanted my team to be first in everything. SB wins are no different. The Steelers became the lead dog in that category back in '09. The 49'ers could very well become the 2nd team to make 6 wins.

Over the past several years, I had hoped the Cowboys would become competitive and at least be the 2nd team to bring home 6 Lombardi's. Uncle Jerry, in his infinite wisdom, makes changes for changes sake. He talks about continuity and such, but here we are, making changes....again. It took Tom Landry 6 years to field a winning team, and then Landry was awarded a 10 year contract, and most fans know the history of that.

As the C&W singer Tracy Lawrence says in one of his hits.......'Time Marches On'....and so it does.

As much as it hurts to say this:

The 49ers are perfect in Superbowls 5-0.

Granted the Cowboys have been to more Superbowls, heck even the Bills have been to 4 but have not won one yet.

Yes, I know they are............but if they win this next one, they'll have 6 is all I'm saying, and be tied with the Steelers for most SB wins in the modern era. The Cowboys have made 8 appearances, but NONE is the past 17 years......winning 5 and losing 3.

Most Super Bowls won...

Steelers - 6
Cowboys - 5
49er's - 5
Packers - 4
Giants - 3
Redskins - 3
Raiders - 3
Patriots - 3

Yeah, I could have done that..........hahahaha..........appreciate it, tho. If the Niners win this one, they will swap places with the Cowboys.

I believe the Pats are a team in decline.

I believe they looked......"tired"...not so much as in tired of winning, but tired as in worn out. Just a thought.

A team that wins 12, 13 games a season is not a team in decline. They were thoroughly outplayed last night but that doesn't mean they are a team in decline. What they are is a team with a crap aSs defense!!!

Who is responsible for their personnel decisions?

I would not call them a team in decline, I would call them a team that does not pay attention to their defensive personnel...and have the philosophy that we will just out score you.

Who is Brady's backup these days??

The Pats will be relevant until Brady retires. Belichick has been very fortunate to have a future first ballot hall-of-fame QB.

You'd have to ask Mother. I believe that Mallet is the backup QB.

The Giants have 4 - 2 with Parcells and 2 with Coughlin.

If the Niners win their 6th, then Jerry needs to sell the team.

Just because the 49ers might win a 6th Super Bowl isn't the reason Jerry should sell the team. The main reason would be so the new owner could hire great football minds that know how to build a consistent winner.

And there will be an argument re whether they switch places with the Steelers as well based upon a perfect SB record. 6 for 6 would be pretty impressive.

6-0 would be very impressive even if their last Super Bowl win was two decades ago.
