NFL  > General NFL  > Jason Carrot Has Been Removed as OC of The Cowboys!
January 23, 2013, 07:41 AM
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Do I need to say anything else? Well, Bill Callahan looks to be the front runner to take up the position, but that has yet to be announced.

However, with that being said, means nothing other than the Cowboys are still a team in turmoil and likely still won't make the playoffs next year regardless. With the rapidly improving Redskins, likely improving Eagles and the Giants always being the "giant killers", it's doubtful the 'Boys will be a playoff team any time soon. But, I can see some improvement, and that's all we can ask.

I read an article about Stephen Jones is being slowly groomed to be the GM, to replace Jerry when the time comes, so he could have some input on how the team functions now and in the future.

As a FN friend is fond of saying here in FN, "I have a dream", or something to that effect.

I don't think Callahan is the answer. I was really hoping JJ would bring back Norv.

Callahan is likely not the answer, but I don't think Norv would be, either. Seems like most teams are looking for youth in their coaching ranks, and Jerry is looking in retirement homes. Actually, I'm surprised Carrot retained his HC gig, and Jerry didn't hire Bum Phillips, or someone in his 70's/80's to be the HC..............

Not sure how Kiffin is going to work out, but experience counts for something, although I have a feeling this "Tampa 2" thing could be out dated.

oh-god,.....isn't callahan in the news right now...?

Yeah.......Tim Brown and Jerry Rice are JUST NOW accusing him (Callahan) of throwing the SB (Raiders vs Bucs)........which in my opinion, is pure, unadulterated BS. Why did they wait so long?

Hue Jackson is in the running for OC of the Cowboys, too, as per the NFL Network this morning.

If they didn't bring in Norv my hope was JJ would go with a younger, innovative coach, but like you said Bull, JJ is looking in retirement homes to fill out the coaching staff. That does not bode well for the coming season, but I will remain positive. Try to anyway!!!

That's all we can do, Tx. We have no control over anything, because if we did, the Cowboys would have 30 Lombardi's right now................hahahaha

It could be that Jerry is trying to get some coaches that he can relate to...........like having some coffee and talking about the "good ol days" when they were in their "prime". Next year, maybe Bum Phillips will be the HC? Or someone of that age.

Rumor has it that he reached out to Vince Lombardi, but there was no answer.

Hahahahaha........that wouldn't surprise me, given that Jerrah appears to have the "Al Davis Syndrome"

I am so confused....how did we keep up before the internet?

i agree that the teams in the NFC east are improving and dallas is likely going to find itself near the bottom next year. the circus continues at valley ranch.....

No...it will be the Eagles at the bottom of that pile next year. And the Giants in 3rd. Mark my words.

The Cowboys will have to some serious practicing and drafting to be one of the top 2 in the NFC East. Guess we'll find out in due time.

Unless they improve the o-line greatly, it does not frickin' matter who is calling the plays anyway!!!

Should be interesting to see what Dallas does with its 1st round pick in 2013. Will the take a gamble on a QB?

I'm waiting for Jerry to hold a press conference that he is bringing in Jamarcus Russell for a look. OMG!!!

Knowing how Jerry Jones thinks he'll most likely draft Monti Te'o.

I heard that he has interviewed Hue Jackson. I thought Jackson is under contract with the Bengals.
