MLB  > General MLB  > Steroids Tainted Players Should Never Be in HOF
January 27, 2013, 05:21 PM
This includes players where there was reasonable doubt as well as ones who failed tests or admitted to using steroids. The message has to be clear: No player who used or where there was reasonable suspicion of use of PEDs will EVER be knowingly be put in the HOF. Otherwise, the PED use will continue and baseball's priceless record books will be full of drug-created lies. I'm sure PED use is continuing right now... But if players realize the extent of the complete ostracism that will occur if they are suspected of steroid use they may reconsider. I believe that the statistic books should permanently remove the names and records of banned players as if they never existed. In order to make team stats add up, you can just have an 'Other Players' category. None of the suspected players should be represented in any way at Cooperstown. Bonds' asterisked baseball ought to just be flushed down an industrial sized toilet.

There can be no forgiveness, or else the masquerade will continue. Any player who knows of a player using PEDs should also be banned from baseball if he doesn't report it.

As far as the greenies of the 70's and 80's, I'm not sure I see the difference between them and drinking ten cups of coffee before and during a game like the players do today, the latter of which they should be allowed to do, in my opinion.
