NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING. FROM THE SONG WAKE UP IT'S 1984

WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO ME

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING , WE WATCH HIM BACK;
WE SEE RIGHT THROUGH HIS DISGUISE;
HE TRIES TO PLACATE US WITH KINDLY WORDS;
BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY'RE LIES;
WHOLE WORLD IS WAITING ;
TO SEE THE BROTHERLY LOVE IN THEIR EYES.

WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING , OBSERVING EVERY MOVE;
IS IT THE BEGINNING OR THE END? ;
JUST LIKE A CHESS GAME SO INTENSE.

WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO ME.

BIG BROTHERS SCREAMING BUT WE DON'T CARE;
CAUSE HE'S GOT NOTHING TO SAY;
THINK OF THE FUTURE, THINK OF THE PROPHECY;
THINK OF THE PLAYERS OF TODAY.

JIM HARBAUGH:::::::::: WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO ME, YOUR SUPER BOWL WIN WILL BE IN TWENTY- ONE- FOUR (2014)

The other Big Brother the all controlling BIG BROTHER, was watching the people as they watched this abuse of what is right. Yes as Neilson was running its numbers, the NFL was also paying attention as to how the people responded to this game. They found that most people really don't care if something bad happens to another person, as long as it's not them or their team that is abused. Some people cared/ or didn't that poor officiating was responsible for the Seahawks beating the Packers. Several members of congress didn't care about their fellow Americans when they denied relief money to the victims of Hurricane Sandy, and some people aren't really concerned about what happened at Sandy Hook elementary, they only look at it as a threat to their selfish reasons for carrying semi automatic weapons, and avoiding background checks before the purchase of a gun.

Was the electrical outage an accident or was it planned by stadium operators and the NFL as a warning that if the people of New Orleans don't shell up some big bucks in the near future and buy the Saints a new stadium the NFL won't be having Super Bowls in New Orleans for some time.

Was the poor officiating a deliberate attempt by the referee's union to pay back the NFL and their tightwad franchise owners for screwing them during their strike? The Referees need another ref in a video booth to help determine plays. Super Bowl 47 was a travesty of justice.

You always seem to put your political spin in many of your comments.

Well I liked hearing the Sandy Hook choir sing "God Bless America ". I know that, having those kids up there made some gun lobbyists really mad. NRA: How dare the NFL put those kids up on a world stage and make us feel guilty about loving our guns more than people.

As a gun owner and NRA member I have absolutely no guilt about owning firearms. To say that gun owners were angry about those kids singing God Bless America is ridiculous. The majority of US citizens believe in the 2nd amendment even if you don't.

and just when did the members of congress all care or agree on any subject?

and the part about the power outage would force the city into buying a new stadium is spot on nuts.

In the song they use 1984 referring to the George Orwell book 1984 they say Nineteen- eighty four. While singing the song it didn't sound right saying 2 thousand Fourteen. Call it artistic license. ( nineteen eighty four - twenty one-four. THe teen part didn't sound right.

You may call it nuts, just last year the lights went out in Candlestick during a nationally broadcast game against Pittsburgh, a couple of months later they got their stadium approved and financed, when the 49ers complete their regular season and possible home playoff games, Candlestick will be 54 years old, while most people celebrate birthdays by blowing out candles. Candlestick will be blown to pieces in a massive planned implosion. Happy Birthday. THe Super Dome is around 40 years old.

You are absolutely wrong in assuming that I do not believe in Constitutional rights. The Constitution has amendments - look up the word amend - it means to change. All I want to do is update the 2nd Amendment so that it applies to modern times. Just like when the Constitution was written the only people allowed to vote were White Men, since then Blacks and Women have been included.

You need to realize, the only ones spreading fear that your guns will be taken away are the far right. Their specialty is spreading fear because of all the money it generates.

Dianne Feinstein is on record saying "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them . . . Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here."

Every American should fear that crazy loon.

Most handguns are semi-automatic weapons, and so are many shotguns and rifles (not even counting what some refer to as "assault" rifles, which also are semi-automatic). Selfish reasons? If protecting your family, self, home, and country (and also protecting oneself against a tyrannical government) are selfish reasons, then I'm selfish.

The 2nd Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, which has its roots in the English Bill of Rights of 1689, which was in part passed to prevent the Crown from disarming the citizens (King James II had attempted to disarm all Protestants) and simply restated the natural right in English law to keep and bear arms. Our founders wanted to be certain that our government could never become tyrannical. You may think that kind of thinking is outdated. The Jews probably never dreamed there was a problem with being disarmed by the Germans until it was too late to fight back - and that was only about 70 years ago.

The 2nd Amendment is as relevant today as it was when the Bill of Rights was passed. What's to amend? It doesn't say guns cannot be regulated, and they are. It doesn't bar reasonable background checks, and background checks are done (they will likely become even more invasive, but they will still be legal to require). Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, right?

Way to go Narry. You have succeeded in your venture to cause an unnecessary argument that has nothing to do with the 49ers losing the SB. I thought we had a political thread.

February 9, 2013  07:02 AM ET

Not to mention how rediculously dumb and ignorant your theory is.

Let me get this right. The 49ers have been planning to move to Santa Clara LONG before the power outage last year, but the NFL got together with the power company to cause a delay to send San Fransisco a message? How does it benefit the city of San Fransisco for the team to move?

The words to this song and the thread itself would have been more appropriate before the game.
Big Brother vs Little Brother. I hope people will respond to it in both ways. Sibling rivalry and Political Rivalry.

When the television was invented most people thought of it as useless, other people saw it as a new form of marketing. No one ever thought that humans would become so addicted to television, nor that the constant repetition of commercials accompanied by subliminal messages could brainwash the American Public into a bunch of Pavlovian Dogs. Beer Commercial= Gee I think I'm thirsty= Honey could you get me a beer?

The 49ers have been trying to get a new stadium back when Eddie DeBartolo was still in charge. There was never a sure thing about where the 49ers were going to build a stadium, there were 2 other plans: 1) that the Oakland / Alameda Stadium would be destroyed and a new stadium would be built that both the 49ers and Raiders would share, the location is a Prime Location for many reasons. Al Davis wanted his own stadium, now that he is dead there is talk that Oakland will share the 49ers new stadium, not sure 49er fans like that idea, but Santa Clara would love it 2) The other option was that the city of San Francisco wanted the 49ers to build a stadium at the Hunters Point location, now there is talk that the Golden State Warriors move out of Oakland and will build at Hunters Point but that will not be finalized and built for 4-6 years. Santa Clara only came into the picture in 2008, someone talked the people of Santa Clara into putting a proposition on the ballet that would then allow the people of Santa Clara to think about building a new stadium to house the 49ers, that put pressure on The City of San Francisco but they did not budge. During that time York refused to make improvements to Candlestick and even cut back on stadium security which some people blame for shooting that occurred after games. So even after York thought that Santa Clara would be the new home of the 49ers he continued to run into problems from people trying to block the 49ers, even after the ground breaking ceremonies there was a court order to stop construction because of uncertainty as to where the funds would come from, some people said the contract was not honest and that money would come out of school funding to pay for the stadium, once that was straightened out, construction began.

To not consider that crooked politics does not exist in Louisiana is like ignoring scientists warnings of global warming. After all as a 49er fan you should know that the reason Eddie DeBartolo is no longer the owner of the 49ers is because of crooked Louisiana politicians that demanded Eddie pay them money ($400,000.00) so he could build a casino.

The 49ers did not turn off the lights at Candlestick but the power failure was due to not updating the circuitry in order to handle the load, same as New Orleans.

That is where you are wrong. A majority of citizens want automatic background checks even at gun shows. A majority of the people also do not believe guns should have a magazine / clip that holds more than 10 bullets, A majority of people do not believe guns should be semi- automatic. If people do not want to lock up their guns in a safe I don't believe there should be a law saying they have to, I'm saying that if you leave a gun sitting on a coffee table or night stand and someone uses that gun in a murder, suicide, or gun related accident in which a person is wounded or killed that you the owner are responsible and that you will be prosecuted.

Feinstein should consider retiring from the Senate as she is outwardly hostile to gun owners. She has no regard for the second amendment and could care less about disarming law abiding citizens.
