Do you think Cedeno or someone else will be the starting second baseman when the Cards break camp. The future is starting the season at Triple A Memphis Kolten Wong.

If Matt Carpenter can make the routine plays at 2B, the job is his because he has the superior bat.

I could definitely see a situation where Carpenter gets a lot of starts and Descalso comes in as a late inning replacement. Otherwise, I can see a massive platoon happening between Descalso, Carpenter and Cedeno.

Agree that Wong will start the season at Memphis, but what is the likelihood he'll be in St. Louis before the end of the year if he hits at AAA?

I believe it all comes down on whether 15 can play and contribute. If he can I don't understand why they went out and got Cedeno. If Wong can hit in the Bluff City and 15 can play like his old self, I can see one or two infielders move before the trading deadline.

I don't like the Cedeno signing, he doesn't offer anything more than what Kozma or Jackson can provide backing up SS. If Carpenter is still below average defensively at 2B might as well bring up Wong to start the season.

I wasn't crazy about that signing either, but it tells me that they don't have a lot of confidence in Kozma or Jackson to take over if/when Furcal gets hurt this year.
