NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > MATT BARROWS OF THE SACRAMENTO BEE IS A FRAUD AND DISGRACE
February 28, 2013, 04:14 PM
Matt Barrows is a self proclaimed 49er insider.

While some of use were saying that Smith would be traded and that the offers from other teams had already been presented to the 49ers and the only thing left for the 49ers to do is sort through what offers were most enticing, others were saying that no one was interested in Smith.

I had listed 6 teams that I thought would show some interest, KC being one of the teams in the top 3, the other teams being Cleveland and Arizona.

I figured that a team interested in Smith would have to cough up a 1st round pick or 2/ second round picks, one in 2013 and one in 2014. Since Cleveland did not have a second round pick it seemed like they would have to give up a 1st round pick, and Arizona was not going to get Smith without a 1st round pick and more, you don't give division foes a good deal. So that narrowed down to KC who had a enticing 2nd round pick.

Even though I did not know for sure which team would make the winning offer, I knew 2 things that made me think that the deal was done. 1) Trent Baalke had dinner with Alex Smith and his wife 2 days after the Super Bowl. 2) The demeanor of Baalke and Harbaugh when they were asked about whether they were thinking of trading Smith both were so calm and care free.

Then came Jason LaCanfora from CBS who announced the 49ers and Chiefs were close to finalizing a trade. THen Matt Barrows countered by saying that everyone who was spreading the rumors that Smith was going to be traded to KC were absolutely wrong and that because he was the self proclaimed 49er insider that he said on Twitter that his inside sources said that the 49ers had not received an offer.

Well we know Barrows is nothing more than an egotistical punk. So KNBR Radio invited Barrows on to give his side of the story. When asked if he thought the 49ers were still going to trade Smith after every known media source has said it is a done deal, Barrows then paused and stuttered; well you know both sides might at the last minute pull out of the deal. This self proclaimed insider also was asked questions about which 49ers were most likely to be released as free agents, again Barrows could not come up with a clear decisive answer. It was almost comical to watch Larry Kruger and Gary Radinich bait Barrows with easy enough questions to answer, yet every time Barrows answered he was uncertain. I thought he was supposed to be an expert on the 49ers?

When Barrows tweet came across the Bleacher Report claiming that his inside source was debunking all trade rumors. I called him out, but Matty Boy ran away.
