Craig signs a 5 year contract extension through 2017, with an option for 2018.

I like this move by Mozeliak. Avoids the arbitration process and his first year or two of free agency. Craig is an RBI machine, and a tremendous clutch hitter with a knack for the big hit. I like seeing him locked up for the forseeable future.

Pretty good deal for both sides, I would say.

Considering he's 28 a very good deal that locks him up for his prime years.

Agreed. Plus he seems like a solid guy personally and one that you are proud to say is a Cardinal. I love seeing all the homegrown talent having an impact. It never used to be that way back in the Jocketty days.
