NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Aubie in Trouble?

Wow! If you can believe even a small portion of what's in the article
http://tinyurl.com /Auburn-Trouble
then Aubie SHOULD BE in deep doo doo. We got a smorgasborg of infractions from grade changing, coaches DIRECTLY giving players money, failed drug test covered up before the champ game with Oregon (how much would the absence of the games star Mike Dyer, who told teammates he was one of those who tested positive, have changed the outcome?), giving 'trusted' players up to $500 to entertain high value recruits when the NCAA allows only $50, etc, etc.

Although not a violation, the worst 'infraction' in my book was throwing Mike Mcneil and 3 others under the proverbial bus for whatever reason.

If USC got what they got for 1 player taking favors from a prospective agent, and one coach knowing about it (that's still a big ? in my mind), what should the War Eagle get for all the stuff in this article, if the story proves true? Keep in mind this isn't just one disgruntled player, it's many guys, such as receiver Darvin Adams, who says: ' "It was sugar-coated in a way,??? says Adams, who confirmed he was offered financial incentives, but declined to detail the exact amount. ???It was like, we???ll do this and that for you. But I???d rather do things the right way. I am happy I didn???t say yes to that stuff. That???s what I???d tell kids.??? ' ( the 'financial incentives' were to stay at Auburn instead of declaring for the draft, the opposite of Reggiue Bush).

What's your opinion? Forefeit the championship and other games? Just a bunch of hooey (I know, a highly technical word but it means BS)? So what, everyone does it? Wait and see (that's what I'm sticking with for now)?

This could stretch out past O'Bannon case (I mean final settlement, not decision on class action in June), which could possibly make this sort of moot, but it's at least worthy of off season discussion IMO.

Oh, BTW, I'm sure there's nothing to it since an Aubie internal review "found no evidence of the academic fraud". I will take them at their word over lying scum sucking felon players with dreads...

With Emmert atop the NCAA, plenty of otherwise uninterested folk could cry out for "Barrabas" (Auburn, in this case).

The whole problem is, nowadays there's nobody with enough cred out there to actually investigate this stuff, and deliver a report that anybody would believe. That's just sad.

I hear you, but it sounds as if some of the "ex" TTigers may be speaking out, and the way I've seen it that's more than enuff for the NCAA, unless they don't want it to be.

But I do believe they are walking on egg shells so who knows what'll happen.

Hey, I hear Dahmer claimed to the end that it was just pork tenderloins on the stove simmering....

Maybe set up a Grill for porterHouse's....

My bad, just came from the ice haus still talking grill...
But my daughter is coming for a visit from TX this weekend, which qualifies as a special occaision, so if the weather is decent... the heck wit it, even if there are tornado's I'm gonna open the Garage door and slap some meat on...

The 1st BBQ of the season is always a special occaision anyway, so thick, juicy and pink in the middle (get your mind outta the gutter there guys, we're talking meat here, the kind that went "MOOOO" a cpla days ago), just a tad flashed on the exterior...

I finally finished the article, and if it can be believed in the least I feel bad for Mike McNeil, and the stuff supporting him, including statements from others that had nothing to gain by the statements, made him sound like a good kid that made a mistake and is now getting railroaded for it.

Think about it: he came from a family with sufficient means, he never failed a drug test, so why is he comitting armed robery on a drug dealer? Doesn't make sense to me. he WAS with the guys who did do it, but supposedly none of their stories implicate him in the actual AR.

I'm not blaming Aubie, not enough info for that; but his story is kinda like that kid USC recruited who was then accused of rape, did enuff time to kill his chances, and then the girl admitted to lieing and he gets cut loose about 5 years too late.

Did they get a few wiccan's to dance naked around it as the chainsaws bit deep? I hope so, it makes for a good plot twist...

Oh yeah! I'm going to attempt an entire rib roast. I'll let you know how it turns out.

BTW, UTFII, bison is the key to more red beast flesh. "It's better for us than beef, honey. Admit it, you love bison ribeyes and pot roast. You do! So, I got the butcher to obtain for me a bison plate cut. I'm going to make bison pastrami."

In California, I think it gets you a contract as a pron star.

Ha ha ha ha! although I gotta believe the cut of meat would dictate the contract value!

Hmmm, that's a thought. Never tried buffalo except their wings, which I love ;-)

I believe I would have to pay them as few would like to see old meat sizzling on the grill. And slapping meat on the grill with the door shut makes your eyes water and hard to breathe. But hopefully it's nice outside soooo...

And of course they are talking BBQ, and in England maybe yards are too small, or non-existant, so they have to 'Do It In the Road'.

Buffalo is very lean but has good flavor IMO, have had buffalo burgers when I was in western Montana, along with a huckleberry shake, and man was it good.

These accusations would seem to be an issue but apparently Auburn is on top of it.

Athletic director Jay Jacobs stated that an internal review has cleared the university of any wrong doing.

And former coach Chizik is reporting that he ran a clean program.

I guess that settles that!
