NFL  > General NFL  > So, how do you think your team did in the draft?

Granted, none of us will know for sure until a few years from now but how do you feel about your teams picks? Did you address some needs? Did you do it with the right round?

I'm a Steelers fan and I feel pretty good about what we got.

First round we took a LB. Ideally I would have loved to have gotten a great DL but they were gone so we took a LB since we run a 3-4.

Second round we grabbed a RB. Kinda needed that since Mendy left (and he wasn't that great anyway). We had our pick since Lacy was still on the board and we grabbed Bell as he's a better rounded guy. Not the pounder inside but can get it outside somewhat and has good hands to catch stuff out of the backfield.

Third round we took a WR. Not the burner that Wallace was but will be better going over the middle.

In the fourth we took two men. For the first time in 40 years we traded away a future pick to move up and get someone - so the FO really believes in this guy. Shamarco Thomas (S) and with our second pick that round we grabbed QB Landry Jones from OU. He's a little smaller than Big Ben - but could be cultivated to take Ben's place by the time he retires.

I feel pretty good about the guys we got. I think they filled some holes. The only one I think will see some time this year is Bell the RB but I don't think we reached on anyone. Overall I give us an A.

Why is why I asked how do you FEEL your team did.

How did my team do in the draft? New Orleans Saints - in a word, not good.

They needed defense and drafted a wide receiver?

There's been enough said about how the Cowboys did. LOL!!!

Cincy getting a TE and RB was pleasing too me,as far as 'Frankenstiens' monster'?[DE Mangus Hunt]

That was a costly gamble. I can only hope DC Zimmer can get him up too speed and find uses for him.[blocking punts are good!]

The reason for Cincy's success has been Zimmer so if you're going to put your faith in anyone, he's a good choice.

No disagreement there,i guess Mike liked what he saw, usually, those little countires have been better at other sports.

I did read that alot of his countrymen didn't care too much for our type of football, but ifn he can digest the playbook,Then he's done alot better than most starting out in the NFL.

Don't forget Mike Brown. That man suckered the Raiders into trading high draft picks for a washed up Carson Palmer.

As i recollect,Carson did well as he could[out of shape, pushed into a game he wasn't trained for,and the next season passed for over four grand, and that? doesn't suck, know anymore QBs that did better?

He's a Card now,so don't sweat it.

The Packers had a great draft!!

April 30, 2013  08:05 PM ET

With the Bengals I can't really complain,as they got a TE that can block and catch[hopefuly clutch]

And help put numbers on the board, and finaly? a RB,[this little f//ker can run thru the big boys.]

Got a safety and a freak of nature.[His country usually just practices Olympic sports and 'The worlds strongest mans' contest.]

So the juries still out on him.

But? ifn Zimmer see's a player worth taking? even playing foot ball for only 4 years?

I ain't argueing the point.

Chargers did ok with the picks they had. Would've liked a left tackle, got a right tackle. Not their fault, just that guys were gone. Gonna have to fill that need in FA. Would've liked a DT, got a LB and WR...Te'o should be solid, but came at a big price of giving up the 4th round pick...hope he's worth it. Best pick, especially where they got him, may have been WR Keenan Allen out of Cal. Before hurting his hammy he was a projected 1st rounder. Supposed to have great WR skills. Hope he's not nursing injuries into training camp. When you need as many players as the Chargers do, any warm body fills a need and it's impossible to fill them all adequately in one draft. But the 1st 3 rounds all filled needs.

Finally had a chance to see what the Pats did. They didn't have many picks and I think they did pretty well with the holes they needed to address.

The only question I have about the Chargers draft is they grabbed Manti. Throw out the whole imaginary GF thing. According to his team mates at ND he waited till his senior year to get serious about being good. To me that's an issue of heart.

The Raiders waited too late to pick up DLineman but other than that I was satisfied with their draft.

Gotta say - as much criticism as people want to give them for their pick of DJ Hayden in the first round, you can't watch this video and tell me you aren't rooting for the guy.

Agreed. I'm amazed he is alive, much less able to play in the NFL. You have to root for a guy like him. Seems like a fine and determined young man. And he ran a 4.33 40 at Houston's Pro Day. Wow.

I'm worried about it for a few reasons. His 40 time was slow (they say he has good "instinct" - we'll see about that). They gave up a lot - a fourth rounder - to move up a few spots and grab him. And also will he emerge as a leader some have said he is capable of being. I hadn't heard about the issue you raise, but add one more to the list. Time will tell.
