There hasn't been a new post in a month or two so I thought I'd open up the thread so we could all shoot the bull on Johhny's toe, Weidman vs Silva and maybe the heavyweight picture after Cain buries Bigfoot a 2nd time. We'll see if this works or if FN is really KIA.

The part that killed me about his toe was how he didn't feel it until Joe showed him, then he looked like he wanted to puke. Too bad Chael couldn't hold out 30 more secs; he'd have had a belt.. at least until the rematch.
I'm hoping Weidman takes this, if nothing else just to push Andy towards Bones which will hopefully happen regardless. Dunno about the sub but I'll be glued to my tv with a beer either way.
Completely agree with you on the Bigfoot-Cain fight but after that, I don't see a clear contender to Cain cause Cormier won't fight him. We could have another division of guys who can beat on each other but can't topple the champ.

Dos Santos is the clear contender, after he does away with Mark Hunt.

Oh yeah, he really gave Cain a fight last time said no one. Cain beat JDS like he stole something from his momma. Not a fight that I need to see again. I'd like to see Werdum get the next shot but I think Cain would light him up on the feet.

Yeah you're right, Dos Santos couldn't possibly beat Cain. Oh wait..........

5 rounds of a beatdown vs. a fortuitous punch 64 secs in. Which one shows true dominance? Ohhhh right, the 25 min of evidence does.

So you're saying Sonnen > Silva?

30+ minutes of dominance vs. 1 fortuitous triangle and 1 poorly times spinning fist.

Yes, for that fight Sonnen > Silva albeit Sonnen was juiced outta his skull and Silva was hurt. If JDS had swung and clipped Cain in round 5, he'd have the win but wouldn't change who took the whipping in the fight. Same as it didn't change in the Sonnen/Spider fight.

If Weidman wins, I'd see Andy moving towards GSP rather than Bones.
But if Andy takes out Weidman convincingly, then maybe Bones starts to make sense as MW will truly be gutted of credible challengers (with all due respect to Rockhold).

Maybe we can bet this fight with the money you owe me. I'll take Cain.

Unless something else comes up first.....

it changes the context though when Silva is on film before the fight, during training, explaining how he plans to submit Sonnen...then you find out about the cracked rib going into the fight...and then you see Sonnen's busted up face and barely a mark on Silva....

1 error is a mistake, 2 is incompetence...

This is pretty much what turned me off from Boxing completely. Two of the "better" heavyweights wouldn't fight each other because they're related (Wladimir and Vitali).
