NFL  > General NFL  > Green Bay will have a running game this season

By getting Lacy and Franklin in the draft, the Packers running game just got better. Defenses will no longer be able to sit back in cover 2 and take away the long ball, they will HAVE to put the 8th man in the box and maybe the 9th!! Great job TT!

Cincy drafted the 1st RB in the 2nd rnd,and thats a record for no RBs not taken in the 1st round for decades from what i read.

And Cincy will be playing yer team at home this year,it ought too be a great game too watch.

I'll mark that one on my calender EZ.. Should be a good game. It's early in the season, both teams will be trying to find out what they have!

Green Bay's running game should improve but how much will they be willing to give those guys the ball when they just gave Rodgers a 110 million dollar contract? I'm assuming they will want the ball in Rodgers hands.

Of course Rodgers is the man in Green Bay but the Packers need a legitimate running game to open things up down field. Lacy is a 3 down back that has decent hands. It opens up a lot of things for McCarthy and Co. If we had Lacy in the Playoff game against the 49ers, we probably would have scored a TD on the 3 yard line instead of having to settle for a field goal. He could have also given better ball control and that could have kept the 49er offense on the sidelines more. Could have changed the game.

Tebow would be a good back up for Rodgers.

Too early to tell if Lacey is the answer. the Packers lost that game due to a poor Packers defense, they need to fix that first.

The defense DOES need improvement but if the Packers had more of a ball control type offense the 49ers offense would have been on the sidelines more and the Packer defense would have been more rested. IMO

They need to be able to run the ball more so Rodgers isn't forced to sling it 45 times a game. Running the ball more translates to a ball control offense, thereby limiting amount of time the defense sees the field.

It amazes me when people think a team will go all 1 dimensional just because they pay a player the current market value.

Of course they are going to put the ball in Rodgers hands, and he'll have more assets to spread the ball to.
