Translation: I wanted to re-sign with Da Bears but didn't get the money I wanted so I tested the waters to see who else wanted me for that amount of money and no one did, so I'm taking my ball and going home.

This happened to Hines Ward as well.

Players at the end of their careers that are worth far less than they think they are.

I actually expect to see more of this with salary cap not going up that much in the next few years.

This never happened to Hines Ward!

He said he wouldn't play for anybody but the Steelers and retired after they cut him last year. He stated he had zero interest in playing elsewhere before he retired!!!
