NFL  > General NFL  > Michael Crabtree could be out for the year.

Tore his ACL in OTA's today in SF. NFL.com is reporting he's starting 6 months of rehab so he could be back as early as Nov.

SI is reporting it is a "a possible torn Achilles tendon".

I am not a doctor but I remember what a childhood friend went through with that and it was way over a year before he was off crutches.

Could be November 2014.

Athletes have access to MUCH better health care then we do.

Remember when Carson Palmer tore all three ligaments in his knee in January of '06 vs the Steelers? They said he'd be out at least a year. He was back in time for the start of the season.

Granted they're being optimistic by saying this year but that's the target. November at the earliest. The season will be half over by then.

Depending upon where the 49er's are at that point - he may want to aim for Sept. of '14.

Achilles tendon tear for a WR? That's terrible news. November '13 seems way optimistic. 2013 seems optimistic. How big is the Boldin signing now? With every injury comes opportunity - time for A.J. Jenkins to show he was worthy of a first round pick in '12. Didn't get much PT as a rookie but supposedly has bulked up and claims to be ready and up to the challenge. And big opportunity for Ricardo Lockette, and for Kyle Williams who is supposedly going to be healthy coming into camp.

Don't see Manningham as much of a factor with PUP status, and Quinton Patton, well you never know - maybe a diamond in the 4th round rough? Someone's got to emerge, but no matter who it is I doubt they'll be as good of a blocker as Crabtree is. As good of a receiver as Crabtree is, the Niners might miss his blocking the most. But then again, Boldin's an excellent blocker too. Hate hearing about these injuries. Happens every year. Bolts lost Ingram for the year to an ACL on the first day...argh. Hope Crabtree's injury turns out to be less serious and he can return in '13, but I wouldn't be betting any hard-earned money on that.

Yeah, Ripper...right now the Boldin signing looks like it was a huge amount of foresight on the part of the 49er's.

Great call.

This is bad news for the Niners. The Seahawks should win that division now.

The 9nr's still have a lot of talent on the team already ,as I hate too see any person getting hurt?

,That's the factor that any player has too face ,but then again? the 9nr's had a great amount of picks this year and one person injured,[unless it's yer #1 QB?]

Can rely on their depth on the other hand, And their HC,is one of the best out there, and has shown He ain't shy about putting in another player ,that could become an impact player for them, this year.

Harbaugh is very fortunate that he inherited a team with great talent. The Niners had more talent than the Ravens but still lost in the Super Bowl.

Winning doesn't come down to just who has more talent.

Suggs came back from a torn achilles last year for the Ravens in Nov.

Cincy was the favorite both times when in the Super Bowl ,so it get's down too who gets the breaks and shows up on game day.

I'm looking forward too see what both Pittsburgh and Baltimore does this year.
