NBA  > General NBA  > Is LeBron James a better -must have- shot finisher than Michael Jordan
May 26, 2013, 11:47 AM
This has been the argument of the week among some of my friends.

LeBron fans always dig up an obscure game that for some reason I can't verify where Jordan missed a few shots in the final seconds of an important game.

I DON'T REMEMBER ONE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WHERE THAT HAPPENED.

Do you?

So please James fans, your King is not even close to Michael Jordan in the big shot department, and before you go off on the "well he won a game in the last two seconds a few days ago..."

YEA! in a uncontested drive to the basket, my abuela could of made that basket.

Please, please go tell that story to someone else.

Truly .....Enough said.

Nope, but Jordan once said something about him missing 9000 shots and losing 300 games is what made him great.

And Jordan missed a lot of big shots. His very first game in the finals. Vs. the lakers, 10 seconds left, and he missed the game winning shot. The had to foul Byron Scott and ended losing. Of course they then won 4 straight...

Game 5 vs. the Jazz in 98 at the buzzer for the win was an airball even. If course that gets forgotten when he crossed over (pushed off a tad?) against Byron Russell and hit the series ender the next game.

Jazz the year before he missed one in game 4 of the finals (and in game 5 he had the flu... and game 4 is forgotten history).

I saw a post once, game winners/tying shots with the shot clock turned off in the playoffs Jordan was 9/18.. Lebron was around 40% and Kobe around 28%. I thought Ray Allen was 50% though too, and I guess after game 6 now he could be better.
