NBA  > Minnesota Timberwolves  > Thaddeus Young -- Realistic or a Dream?

I've seen his name going around lately with the T'Wolves being the team to acquire him. Nothing that has any credit to it, but more so a suggestion by multiple sources.

Personally I've been a fan of going after Evan Turner. That's irrelevant for this thread, but worth noting.

Philly seems like they're in full on tank mode and after Dwight, Iggy, Josh Smith and some of the second tier guys (Monta, Jennings, etc.) sign somewhere, I expect to see Philly shop both Turner and Young as well as Spencer Hawes.

Young has a contract that goes past this year at a somewhat reasonable price. He's also only 25 so he's still not technically in his prime just yet.

He's a tweener, being that he plays the SF/PF position, but he's more than capable at the 3 I think.

It would take a D-Will + Ridnour package to land him, maybe more. Young's an efficient scorer, pretty good rebounder and a physical defender. He averaged close to 15 & 8 last season on 53% shooting. He wasn't really a three point shooter in Philly, but he has a decent mid-range shot from what I've seen.

I don't have my mind made up on whether or not Minnesota should pursue him or even if we have the assets to get him. A Young/Love/Pek starting frontcourt does intrigue me however. Those are some big bodies that can handle any, ANY frontcourt in the NBA.

Thoughts?

I am wondering if Young has plateaued as a player. Would he be a better fit than Williams? That would be the question that needs to be answered along with how much better Williams will be getting.

The Wolves may not be interested due to his salary.

It's a pipe dream at this point.
