The name change is effectively immediately. Jerry says it's not about the dollars. It's about the company. Now who the hell is going to believe that????

It was just a matter of time i guess. He said some people think the stadium looks like a cell phone, thus AT&T makes sense. AT&T already has AT&T Park, home of the Giants in SF. Business must be good. With MetLife paying the Giants/Jets $17-20 million per year, and Levi's paying the 49ers $11 million/year for the Niners' new stadium naming rights, it wouldn't surprise me if JJ got $25 million/year. But hey, it's not about the money. Just the moolah. Whatever it is, it's a fatty payday.

I guess it paid off for him to wait a few years. Add in the $200 million generated from premium seating and other stadium sponsorships and other revenue, and he'll have the investment in the stadium returned in short order.

I don't care who sponsors it or what name he attaches to it...

I shall call it "the Death Star" until I croak.

Yup.

Former Pens home was the Igloo, no matter what it was officially.

There couldn't be a better name for a hockey team than Penguins, and there couldn't be a better home arena name for Penguins than The Igloo.

Got my vote.
When I was visiting my brother in Arlington, I just could not get over the steel monstrosity sitting there. Didn't get a chance to make it inside, which everybody says is gorgeous, but it would have to be to make up for the eyesore that it is outside.

Dodger Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field (was named after the man not his gum company), Yankee Stadium.

That's all I can think of without some corporate names and they are all baseball.

The Ducks played at the Pond before Honda put their name on it.
Still the Pond to me, even though I have never been there nor do I like hockey.

Most franchises are selling out to corporate interests. Lambeau Field in Green Bay is one of the few exceptions.

I went down there in Year 2... My alma mater (HS) team was in the playoffs and got to play there. Spent $8 on a game ticket and the parking was free. It is nothing short of amazing on the inside.

It's gonna take a really sweet deal for me to go to a Cowboys game. Completely out of my price point.
