NFL  > General NFL  > PRESEASON PREDICTIONS; NFC EAST
July 27, 2013, 02:50 PM
WASHINGTON...... Washington is starting to run away with the East. Seems like RG3 will start the season. The return with Alfred Morris who was the second leading rusher in the NFL behind Peterson. Washington also has a decent draft and made strides at improving their secondary. The question mark concerning their success is their schedule, not so much the competition but the fact that they play 12 games after their BYE WEEK. Sure they are a young team but will they tire out and collapse late in the season?

NEW YORK........ Like last year the NYG's played Dallas at home in their opening season game and lost 17-24, this season they start off @ Dallas. Their last 3 games of the season could be the straws that break their backs and keep them out of the playoffs for the second straight year as they face Seattle, @Detroit, Washington, and who knows their final game of the season may be for the division, just like Washington vs Dallas battled for it last year. Not a very impressive draft in 2013.

DALLAS ........ Dallas will improve on defense, now that Ryan is gone, Question is; Is Kiffin to old and been out of the NFL for to long? The window is closing fast on Romo, not that his job will ever be in jeopardy, Jerry will let Romo play till the day Romo decides to hang up the cleats. They drafted Center Travis Fredrick #31 and plan to start him. That will be interesting to say the least. Escobar is a good backup TE for Witten and Terrance Williams should be interesting to watch.

PHILADELPHIA ........ Chip Kelly will get off to a rough start and we know how quickly this locker room will fall apart, don't blame it on Terrell Owens Chip Bayless. So now the controversy will be, Vick vs Barkley. Kelly seems to be favoring Barkley while the players are backing Vick. It will take a few years to get this team where he wants it. This year they start the season @Washington and end the season @ Dallas.

The one benefit each team in the NFC East has is that they play the AFC West, good for 2-3 wins per team since the AFC West is one of the 2 worst divisions in the NFL. The bad news is that they all must play the improved NFC North, this is why the NFC East will not produce a Wild Card team. The season should progress like last year, neck and neck down to the last game.

I guess we did not have to wait for a QB controversy to stir up the race card. Racial tension is already high in Philly after what Riley Cooper said.
