NFL  > General NFL  > 2013 PRESEASON PREDICTIONS ; AFC WEST

DENVER- With Miller being suspended for 4 games Denvers defense will be without their top 2 players from last year Dumervill ( free agent) and Miller ( suspension). Denvers first 2 games will be interesting Baltimore ( where Dumervill went) and NYG's ( Mannings Brother), Manning is 37 and entering his 16th season; How many years did Brett Favre stay in the NFL ? About the only significant player they added in the Draft was Montee Ball. Although Brady beat Manning last season, this year things will go Mannings way if he stays healthy. I should be another unchallenging season for Denver to win the AFC West

KANSAS CITY- For now everyone in KC seems happy and optimistic. New Coach, New QB, and backup QB's. They were able to keep Bowe for 5 more years, got a good TE in Kelce during the draft. So the spotlight will be on Alex Smith. I think Smith will want to prove himself against Manning, remember when the 49ers left Smith in the cold and went after Manning last year ? Kansas City will give Denver a race for their money.

SAN DIEGO- San Diego also has a new Head Coach, the old Coach Turner always accepted Rivers screw ups, of course Rivers blamed it on the WR's. With a new coach they will be able to determine who the real screw-up is. The most intriguing draft choice has to be Keenan Allen who fell from a possible top 15 draft choice all the way down to the 3rd round. If he does not work out at WR, which I think he will, I think soon he will be Rivers new favorite receiver, but if he can't make it at WR he can always be moved to FS, Allen was recruited as the best FS.

OAKLAND- Oakland is still singing the QB Blues, again the Raiders relieved a team, this time Seattle of their obligation to Flynn, and a couple of years ago it was Cincinnati obligation to Palmer. Oakland for the last 2 seasons has cleared house. Only 3/ 1st round picks still remain on the team since 2000. Janakowski (2000), McFadden (2006) , DJ Haden (2013). Oakland most likely will be battling for the #1 draft pick in 2014, and if they do not beat Jacksonville in Week #2, then Oakland may be the 2nd team to go winless in a 16 game season.

The AFC West is the probably the worst division in the NFL. THey play the NFC East and the AFC South.

Although Brady beat Manning last season

I don't remember that happening.

Narry,

I think the Chiefs will be underated, and some teams may find that out the hard way.

I'm still uncertian about Denver this season. Because of Peytons age and more too the point.

His injury history, And can he stay upright and not get hit, And with his front 5.

Can they protect him every game? I don't think so.

Hey I gave them a maybe. They might beat Jacksonville. But Jacksonville is a much more improved team than they were last season.

Things are so bad in Oakland that the NFLPA made the Raiders pay Jamarcus Russell $3 million dollars for wages they withheld. Ouch--- Now that is Cold. They have like $30 million in Dead Cap Space. Players that the Raiders are paying for and counting against their cap that are no longer on the team--- Now that is Cold

But,

That was then, not now. After Gronk got gimped up and Welker given the door out,and Hernandez's

killing some one.[maybe more.]

And no matter how ya paint it?

It's gotta hurt the Pats,[even for an Elite QB in Brady.]

Surely you are justified in worrying about Mannings age as should those that are worried about Tom Brady.
