NFL  > General NFL  > Johnny Football: Could he the second coming of Tim Tebow mania
August 6, 2013, 11:21 PM
You can already see a new mania being created. This is an amazing phenomenon, I guess fans need something to believe in, you know like a rabbits foot.

I can see here the same pattern that created Tebow mania. The 24/7 media hype, fans postings on how great of a pro Johnny Football is going to be.

Folks, let me save you from heartaches, disappointments and that dreaded condition called Zombinitis.

The sooner you understand this the better chance you have not to become a zombie.

Johnny Football is great, and I mean a great college player, period, but even though he has a better arm than Tebow, he does not have the size and the arm strength to be an NFL QB, period. Doug Flutie would not make it in todays NFL, so QUIT making the comparison.

Just trying to help you.

As always this is a fans opinion and from what I understand everyone has one and I'm thankful for that.

Enough said.

Seriously? Little Johnny is a tool!! He's proven that over and over and over again since he won the Heismann. He's in the news more than Lindsey Lohan and that is NOT a good thing!

No.

Tebow mania is/was heavily caused by the millions of non-football fans who simply cheered him for his religious beliefs and off-field behavior.

In comparison, Johnny Manziel is the antichrist.

Tebow-mania was about 90% media-fueled. They couldn't stand it if they weren't collectively on the Tebow bandwagon, so they made sure it was "All Tebow, All the Time".

AND it doesn't appear that he will be back on the field anytime soon either, given the reports yesterday from 2 brokers that he accepted money for his signature. Well done Johnny!! That will go over really well in Aggieland.

differrent kinds of problems for these two players. but with all the hype over tebow, i never felt his direct actions were so negative.... just distractions, which isn't too good, either. but manziel has become easy to dislike. he's created this "i'm entitled" image along with all his other problems, peaking with his newest mess. and i do believe he'd not be effective against the NFL's defenses. IF he gets to play this season, he will be a mess. just becoming a total embarrassment for the heisman and A&M!

Manziel deserves what he gets for being that stupid to take money for autographs (allegedly). But does it bother anyone else that the broker secretly recorded the discussions and autograph session on video, then stooled on Manziel and tried to sell the video? That rat ought to be hung by the nads. I guess there's truth to the old saying "there's no honor among thieves."

Manziel is well on his way to be the next Ryan Leaf (and that's not fair to Ryan Leaf as Johnny is working himself DOWN the draft board right now). There's also plenty posted here about his diminutive size as well. Maybe ESPN will do a show on Heisman winners who faded away....
