As we enter the fourth day of site dysfunction with no improvement and no communication from FN or SI, we are pressed to deduce that the FN PTB believe users are like locust - an inexhaustible resource inevitable in cyclical abundance. We are considered both pests and foodstuff for the poor masses - Soylent Green without Charlton Heston.

Since Monday, 8/19/13, I've attempted to access this site with three different browsers - iExplorer, Firefox, and Safari. All reveal each day the same problems with FN (previously noted by others on other boards). Is anyone having success using this site, and if so, with what browser (version included)?

Please, do not fill up the first 20 slots with repetitive posts offering no insights into the problem. If you attempt to post and a blank/white page with snippets of code loads, hit the back browser arrow, then refresh, and you'll see that your post has loaded. Do not hit the submit button repeatedly. Do not nav back and forth between the blank/white page with code **** on it and the message board page. Leave the first 20 post slots open for someone to inform us of how they're having a better experience (if there is such a thing).

Breakdowns are working

August 22, 2013  02:55 PM ET

The problem is the code. Something happened Monday that causes the code gibberish when you try to post a comment and loss of 'quote', 'next page' and 'last' functions. Currently, the only working area of the site where you can see beyond the first page of comments is the Throwdown area.

I don't think a fix is coming anytime soon because I don't think they know how to fix it.

August 22, 2013  03:53 PM ET

Should have been Throwdowns are working

Prevailing thoughts are either they don't know to fix it, or they want to make it TD only...but from what they say TD has been broke for over a year (the clock isn't working)

I've reported to over 30 news outlets the "tip" that Sports Illustrated's Website, FanNation.com has been dysfunctional for 4 days (an extinction event in Internet timeline). Please, do your part and report the dysfunction to as many other purveyors of news as you can. We will shame them into more urgent action.

Yep...will probably be the lead story on Fox News. CNN is too PC to say anything. Perhaps ABC will say something on GMA with Laura's Entertainment News....

^^^LMAO!

In other entertainment news the red hot British clip-clop musical act, Sniping Snickerson's lead singer Starve Barfington has announced that the line up for the New Years Day benefit concert at the Akron Rubber Bowl has added Lil Clumsy as an opening act!

Hip-hop meets clip-clop and a good time Shan't be denied!

Proceeds will go to the families affected with the bicker-snort syndrome.

I like TM's idea of spreading the word to any news outlet available, cannot say if it'll work or not but will take anything at this point.

I posted a question on another MB thread on this, but has anyone got a good opinion of another site that functions well, and is conducive enough to our modus operandi to literally pack up and move to?

August 23, 2013  09:13 AM ET

does anyone have Grue's real-life info? Didn't he go to another site? Could we crash there?

August 23, 2013  09:38 AM ET

If I remember he was at cbs, but I could be wrong. I sent fannation a message on twitter. Probably wont work, but who knows.

I'll make another thread so we can say our good byes and let each other know what sight to go to and what our handle will be, its been a helluva run fellas hope to see you all on the other side.

Go Bucks!

Sports Nickel was one that alot of the TD'ers including Grue moved to for a while but I don't think it ever gained alot of traction. From what little I saw, there were not many folks there.

I also have Grue's FB page, and several others. I think he has kinda called it quits on site-mongering like we do here, but I could be wrong on that.

From what I can tell - it looks like they installed a key word hyperlink ad capability. Where a word is hyperlinked to an embedded ad within the comments - dynamic ad placement. The problem is, there are now missing "objects" and the scripts just fail. Thus some functions, just don't work. In firefox I get the code dumped, in IE it cobbles along. It's a total mess, and it looks like they may not even know how to roll back to a stable checkpoint.......

Added something new that caused problems, cant figure out how to change it back.

I will now collect my 80 dollars for an hours worth of work for that BA session.

Here's a third-party check in the amount of $85 for your trouble.
