NCAAB  > General NCAAB  > How many Big East teams belong in the tournament?

The Big East looks like the country's deepest conference, so how many of its teams belong in the NCAA Tournament?

Right now it doesn't look like they're gonna get the projected nine or ten they were supposed to. I'm going out on a limb and saying nine because Notre Dame is starting to turn it around and there's a couple teams (Providnece or Cincinnati) that will take the ninth spot because there's a notable lack of depth in the mid-major pool this season.

If they take more than 7 it is a joke. Over 10% of the field from one conference?

i think 6-8. UCONN, PITT, Louisville, Marquette, Villanova, West Virgina(maybe), Notre Dame(maybe), and also Cincinnati.

9. At least according to the latest PHSports bracket.

The entire bracket, including explanations, is found at:

Pitt, Uconn, Marquette, WVU, Syracuse, Louisville, Villanova. Maybe Providence, maybe Cincy, maybe ND(most likely out)

if they deserve it what does it matter? the conference is good, unlike conferences like the big 12, cough cough, missouri. UConn, Pitt, Louisville, Marquette, Villinova, West Virginia, Syracuse are all pretty much locks, and then i think Providence deserves a bid, and then cincinatti needs a to win out and get a tourney win, and nd needs to win out and get multi-tourney wins, with georgetown with a very outside shot. id say they get in 9 with a very slim chance at 10. btw, what is the record for most bids by one conference? i think it is 8 but im not sure

uconn pitt louisville marqutte w.v. syracuse and villanova are definites. you got three maybes in providence and notre dame and cincinnati and my crazy prediction is that georgetown wins big east. just look at the chances.

I think to make ALL the conference tounaments more exciting, the selection committee should tell each conference BEFORE they start their's how many teams from each will be chosen....
