NFL  > General NFL  > Most ridiculous conclusions to be drawn by the media after Week 1?
September 3, 2013, 04:31 PM
OK, I've been trolling numerous football sites for the past month. I've been to mainstream like MMQB, Sports Illustrated, Bleacher Report, SB, Fox, NFL.Com, etc etc...went to my Cowboy sites like Bloggingtheboys, TLH, and some others. What I've noticed is that most of these sites have not a freaking thing to read. These sites rely on "bloggers" to tap out drivel every day and they manage to fill page after page with out an interesting or intelligent conclusion to be found. I guess they are populated by hacks like the ones who possibly answer the solicitations we get here occasionally for "Hey starting my sports blog page, contact me if you would like to write and contribute for NO PAY...."
Adds credence to the adage that "you get what you pay for".

So on Thursday and Sunday we'll have 15 matches and we'll also have 15 winners and
losers (I'm excluding Monday). From these 15 games our fearless pundits will march out brilliant statements like "well Jim, as soon as they scored more points they were assured the win." Ya think!!?? They will also let us know that when a left handed quarterback hands off to club footed running back in a domed stadium with a road loss then that team has a .017% chance of winning the Rose Bowl....WHAT????

Please keep your eyes and ears peeled for the dumbest crap that we can get in the next 5 days and come and post it here. You can even make up posts if you like.

"I don't know Moose, with Cam injured I think that the Panthers may be looking to bring in Tebow to bolster this Panther's passing game"

I totally agree with you, except I do believe there will be a double-header on Monday Night, that means Thursday + Sunday will only equal 14 winners.

I think the one of the many reasons so many people love this game is it's unpredictability which of course leads to such great (idiotic) babel from the announcers.

You can already here the hacks going off about your teams inability to strengthen the O-line the first time Tony ends up on his butt, which leads to the GM and Owner being the same person, the head coach being his puppet which at some point should lead into a segment about your cheerleaders (it should be our right as fans for having to put up with the idiotic hyper-garbage from the likes of joe buck causing me to hit the mute button so many times I turn on the stereo) we deserve some reward and I vote for eye-candy.

It's very hard to find any journalist that will tell it like it is. They are usually somehow connected to the team and so they have to pull back a bit from what they should be saying. What fool really thinks the Cowboys will be a playoff team?

Good! Then you'll love this. Nothing smacks of desperation as bringing a guy off the couch to plug into your offensive line 5 days before the first game of the season. Yup..the Cowboys signed Brian Waters.

some of these "late adds" are very concerning for sure.
