NFL  > General NFL  > Peyton Manning

THAT was a friggin' clinic. Wow.

Kudos to him on the fine game and the NFL record. Painful for me to watch, but you've gotta give the man his due. What an amazing field general - high octane.

And what a game for NFL fans to watch to open the new season. We may not see 7 again in the next half century. I think they said it was 44 years ago when it was last done by Joe Kapp. And as for Baltimore, what else can they do but **** up, regroup, and be thankful that they have ten days to make the adjustments they obviously need.

I'm not crowning anyone at this point, but on the much-anticipated opening night national network TV stage, Denver/Manning served notice on the 31 other NFL cities.

I didn't watch because life intruded and I forgot. Life sucks sometimes. But then there's this morning, and WOW. Great for Manning. And, of course, Ruck the Favens.

There are no adjustments that will make up for the loss of two future HOF'ers and team leaders on D plus 6 other starters on D. Without Bolden and with Pita out the Ravens may not have the firepower on O to over come a D that couldn't stop the pass last night.

Time will tell if they can get better.

They get what they deserve. They mortgaged everything for a grasp at the brass ring, and it worked. Now they get to suck for a decade. Good. Can't wait for Harbaugh to get fired. Both of them. So there.

One other thing...we'll see if the Unibrow lives up to that contract. I'm betting against, but that may be wishful thinking.

It's not wishful thinking, Jack.

Unibrow is back to what he was in the regular season last year. He's average or OK to maybe even good but never great. That may be good enough to win some games provided they improve on D but in the tough AFC North that may only get them in a fight to stay ahead of Cleveland and out of last place. WC at best if they can get to 9-7.

On November 5, 2007 Ben Roethlisberger was pulled after tying the Steelers' single-game record with 5 touchdowns in the first half.

Anyone remember who the opposing team was?
