'You hear me say this a lot, but injuries provide opportunities, and there are some great stories of someone getting hurt, somebody stepping in and showing what they can do, and that guy has a role on your team, becomes a starter on the team and becomes a great player in this league,' Garrett said. 'We have those examples on this football team. So there are things you can point to, and that???s the mindset you have.'

I must have blinked because I do not recall anyone coming off the bench to replace an injured starter and becoming a great player, or even a good player on the team or in the league.

What about last year in S.F. at QB?
Granted C.K. has only played in a handful of games but he looks the part of a star player.

I could go way back, the Raiders QB Dan Pasterani (spelling?) broke his leg and a journeyman click board holder took over (Jim Plunkett) and QB'd that team to 2 super bowl wins.

He was talking about his own team ('We have those examples of this football team'). I know these stories exist around the league, especially Brady for Bledsoe. My favorite!!

I remember DeMarco Murray coming off the bench (he may have been the RB3 behind Choice even) when Felix sprained his ankle a couple years back and he put up over 250 yards and broke Emmitt's single-game team rushing yardage record. But he's been hit and miss and had injury issues.

You did say "great player" and "good player," and I admit he's not the former at this point and the jury's still out on the latter, too.

hit "or" miss. jeez.

He's the best the Cowboys have but he can't stay on the field and he puts the ball on the ground too much. In his rookie year he started out as the no.3 RB, then when Felix went down (good luck Steelers, btw) he became the backup. You're right about the game against the Rams going for over 250, but as you said, the jury is still out on him.

Hahaha. Hadn't seen that. That's funny! If I was about to enter that end zone I'd drop anything and everything to get there faster, too! 8-)

That play last night was brutal. But I guarantee if Trevathan ever gets another Pick-6 opportunity he'll still be clutching the friggin' ball when it's time to go out for the next defensive series. They'll have to pry the rock out of his hands! That little dance he did in the EZ with his back to the refs was classic - prolly practiced it in front of a mirror a million times growing up.

But back to today's Hot Clicks. Dang! She won't stop staring at me!

Nothing like the 'end game', huh?? And as far as Mr. Bonehead, he's not the first to pull that stunt. As I mentioned in another thread, Leon Lett and Doooshawn Jackson are at the front of the line.
