NFL  > Philadelphia Eagles  > fresh start eagle nation with chip kelly
September 7, 2013, 10:25 AM
Monday night we all finally get to see what our eagles team will really look like in 2013 . What will a full blown offensive game plan really look like ? What will a billy davis hybrid 3-4 really look like and how fast will it get off the ground ? Will the new high powered offense be able to consistently outscore what our defense gives up on a weekly basis ? Who becomes a breakout star in these new systems and who gets swallowed up by them ? Monday night we get 1/16 of the answers ! ! Anybody care to prognasticate ?

eople will be calling for Chip Kelly's neck by week 12...this is a college team, with a college coach.

This is the NFL, where they all can get there, where they can all make the play.

Does Steve Spurrier sound familiar...Urban Meyer will be next.

Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer were successful in Dallas.

BGD,

And yer 'new coach' came by the way of the 'Canadian Football League'.

And a checkered college football Coaching past. is this the same guy?

And i have a feeling Chicago fans may do the very same thing with Trestman ,Ifn things don't quite work out. As promised.

When you get a new coach, usualy? You don't make it too the Super Bowl,[what a surprise.]

But? since you were comparing notes about 'New Coachs'? let's see how yers work's out,in the NFL as well.

'Best of luck on Sunday'. :)

September 7, 2013  03:12 PM ET

BGD,

What about yer 'New HC'? [By way of the 'Canadian Football league']. and checkered College past.

Same guy?

So i guess ifn yer 'New HC' doesn't work out this year? Chicago fans will be ready too lynch him as well.

You fired a HC that went 10-6 last year. So what can you expect from yer 'Brand new version' with a different moniker. eh?

Recent History, tends too follow a single rule,A new coach, rarely makes the SuperBowl in thier 1st year, as a matter of fact, Yer team could nose dive and lose more than win.

As you've stated, Chicago fans[and others] are used too 'winning',And expect it every year.

But? Back too reality. Nothings chistled in stone yet,And alot of celler dwelling teams are starting too see some daylight. And that's going too happen sooner or later.

Just a matter of fact. So get used too it.

Jimmy Johnson was a great HC for Dallas,

Unfortunetly for him, JJ wanted his p/uss on the cover of Sports Illustrated as well.

And his ego has ran down that team, since then.]

Jimmy Johnson - definitely.
Barry 'six gun' Switzer - not so much. He took Jimmy's team to the Super Bowl.

They both came from Pro style offenses and defenses...Nme a "Gimmick" coach who made it in the NFL, without NFL experience?

Nme = Name

Yes, they both had a good grasp of the Pro game. Jerry Jones parted ways with Johnson because he felt that jimmy was getting all the credit for the Cowboys success. Jones ego got in the way of his common sense.

I believe Trestman had vast NFL experience as a QB coach and as a Coordinator...and has a Super Bowl ring with the 49ers...hmmm....that is why they vest the candidates.

Chip Kelly has NO NFL experience, and only four years at a major college...Could he be Sarah Palin, and see the Link from his house...lol

Lovie Smith deserved to be fired, he would not make adjustments to his talent, and to the rest of the NFL...Smith had better talent than the Packers had for the majority of his term, and could not win...He just got out coached, would coach not to lose, instead of to win...

So he had to go...

BGD,
Excuse me for that mix up.

"Vast NFL experience'. As a QB coach. And a SB ring with the 9ners.Thanks for clearing that up.

Had no idea...hmmm. I hope yer new 'upgraded' QB HC, works out for you. now ,that it's vested.

I don't know what Chip Kelly can do with the Eagles, But ,At the same time ,I don't see much of a difference with either. As far as HCing an NFL team.

Trestman ,Has,[let it be said] Lovie was canned for a 10-6 season, unfortunately? The Bears were left with watching the playoffs on tv, Other than participating in them.

And ,I say this, BGD, 'marvin's' not much better than the other 2 we are talking about.

I took the Bengals because.[on paper] They are a little better than Chicago in depth.

And that's going too be the deciding factor of the game. "Talent".

Cuz ifn we're talking Coaching? I call it nil.

BGD,

Got another person with just 4 years of college Football.

Margus Hunt.[DE-L] He's got a lot too learn ,but ,he's a quick learner and never have too worry about him coming too training camp ,out of shape.

In his country? All they live for is practice for 1 goal, Too get an Olympic Gold.

Now? He's got another goal, and you will see him a lot this season.

Last year peeps thought nothing of my saying Vontaze Burfict [UDFA- rookie LNBKR]was going too be an immediate 'Impact player' .But most peeps know him now.[At least in the AFCN.]

And I think Hunt, will follow right behind.

BGD,

So did/does marvin.[ifn Cincy flops.] Other than BB, He's still got a job with an overall record of losing more than winning ,and 0-4 in WC/plofs.

oops,
Sorry, I forgot too mention that Chip Kelly was hired with a team, that has sucked.

And Trestmen got a playoff caliber team.[Let's see what happens.]

September 7, 2013  07:25 PM ET

marvin's the 2nd longest tenure HC in the NFL.[with a losing record]

Not too be compared too BB.at any time ,other than time.

I believe that Lewis is paid less than most NFL head coaches which may be one reason that Brown has kept him as head coach.
