NFL  > General NFL  > Week 1 is in the books.

What did you think? There was lots of sloppy play, like it was still preseason. Good close games because of that for the most part. I think the Jags are the worst team in the league easily. The Steelers have huge issues. Mike Wallace is a major tool. The Cowboys still throw too much (a disaster waiting to happen). Suh is THE most dirty player in the league far and away. Some teams need to learn how to put a game away with a lead in the 4th quarter. Just a few quick observations.

It runs between the 20-yard lines.

is it centered over the field...?,....*punters won't hit it*.....?

It's been hit a few times. I believe it's centered down the middle of the field. Results in a re-kick when that happens.

wow... steelers! That's all I can say.

The Pats pulled a game out of their ASSSSZZZZZ. The Jests somehow won. The Jags scored on a safety and that was it for the day for them. The Browns are still..well, the Browns. Just a lot of bad play, stupid penalties and such all around the league and in some cases directly led to the game being won or lost.

I've tried to get her to get on that 'bandwagon' but she won't have none of that. LOL!!

once again the PAckers got screwed on a call that really decided the game if you ask me.

I'd like to think that, but IMO GB just made too many mistakes to beat the best of the NFC.

But even after all that they had the ball with 5 minutes left and a chance to win the game. Just didn't get it done. No excuses.

QUOTE(#15):

the Jets won because of a stupid out of bounds shove to Geno Smith. Tampa had that sloppy game won pretty much, but that 15 yard penalty put the Jets in FG range!

That is definitely one i was referring to about stupid plays deciding the outcome. I was really hoping Rex would be 0-16 in his last season as a coach.

Tx, you're right about the Cowboys throwing too much. When the halftime stat said Romo had 32 passing attempts, I was shocked!

You think his ribs are really okay? Seemed more than just the wind being knocked out of him to me.

I think people expected he had a rib injury. I sure did. When he went to the bench and even after half time he sure looked like he had some pain. You don't get that from just getting the wind knocked out of you. I would not be surprised if he wears a vest to protect his ribs starting the next game. It will also be interesting when the injury report comes out later in the week.

It reminded me so much of that game vs the Niners where he ended up having a punctured lung despite going back into the game. He earned my respect that day - I've had a punctured lung before and I have NO IDEA how he managed to play through that.

Hope he's okay, though I'm sure they minimized his injury.

When the injury report comes out I expect to see his name with at least bruised ribs. He is a tough guy no question. He has taken quite a beating in recent years because that o-line is as creaky as an old barn door.
