NFL  > General NFL  > Cowboys and Giants

Just one game..........the first game. Let's not crown this team anything, other than maybe somewhat improved from the past few years, esp. last. Injuries have a way of making midgets out of giants, so to speak. The injury bug is biting already, and may continue to do so. I hope not, but it could very well be.

I liked the way the defense improved from last year, but the 2nd half was more reminiscent of last year, and looked to be more of the "same ol, same ol". However, a win is a win, esp. against these Giants, and a division win as well.

I, for one, am not going to put the horse before the cart, because I know a child has to crawl before it can walk. (Like my analogies?..lol). I know most of you fans are realistic, and understand what I'm saying. I too would love another SB run, but, for now, I want the 'Boys to have a decent and winning season, and then I'll up on my wants and wishes.

The Giants went up and down the field at will...Six turnovers will kill anybody, a win is a win...and we take them anyway we can.

Good Morning, BG! The thing about it is, altho' they had 6 t/o's, the Giants were still in the game. The Cowboys' offense needs some work, if for nothing else, to keep their defense off the field. Manning and company are still a dangerous team.

Hopefully, they will improve from one game to the next. Tom Coughlin said that since practices have been reduced (the CBA), teams aren't as ready for the first game as they had been in the past. I can see that.

Agreed B.S.!! Good to see ya. Let's keep in mind that Manning still was able to accumulate 450 yards. Lots of work to be done, but at least this team seems to know how to cause turnovers. Realize that they already have 6 and last year they had a grand total of 16 for the entire season. It was also good to see the penalties come down. I think they only had 5. Also hope Dez doesn't have a foot issue. They cannot afford that injury.

I think they will improve. IF they can keep the injuries and penalties down and start playing like I think they're capable of doing. But, they can't just play for 2 quarters. They have to play the entire game. They need to find that so called killer instinct.

That will come from the HC. Not sure they will get that!!

True. Maybe Kiffin and company will provide it for the defense? We'll soon see.

romo looked good.... must say. but first few turnovers should have been TDs for dallas. maybe red zone work needed. also, game was way too close for a team that had 6 turnovers. before eli's last INT, i was sure he was going to march down the field and win the game.

garrett still seems to be more of an interested fan on sidelines instead of a HC. hard not to question his leadership..... just never see the guy actually "coaching" on the sidelines - no involvement. a good start....

Romo played a good game and the defense made some big plays but they also committed too many mental errors. Once they become more comfortable in Kiffin's schemes the more effective they should become. Overall it was a good win and a positive start to the season.

Callahan's play calling and numbering system has definitely helped the O-line decrease the amount of penalties and in pass protection because the ball is being snapped with more time left in the play clock. Wish that there would have been better running lanes for Murray, but the Giants are a good football team so we can still improve on that. Romo threw for 263 yards on 36 out of 49 attempts with 1 int. The offense does need to do a better job of capitalizing and seizing after getting the ball on a turnover. Garrett, Callahan, and Romo need include big play schemes in the game plan in order to follow up turnovers. The D did give a lot of yardage but hopefully we can stop teams from scoring and continue to create turnovers then we should be alright (bend but don't break). 6 to 1 stat with a 5 TO ratio sure does look great!

let's tap the brakes a little. They can easily follow the script they set out on last year. Nice win first game against the Giants and then fell totally flat against the Seahawks.

The Cowboys should beat KC. I'm hopeful this team will continue to improve as the season progresses.

Too funny!!!! Would take at least ONE miracle, and it would need to be for the team from the northern part of the state. I think Houston has a better chance right now.

Two teams from the Lone Star state would make all Texans proud.

My concern had to do with the three turnovers in the 1st quarter resulting in 3 points and a turnover. Until Carr saved the day, I seriously thought they were going to blow that game.

I did like the commitment to the run (we have all been screaming for that). Let's hope they continue that.

The only negative comment I made after the game was the lopsided play calling. I thought with the new OC we would see more focus on the running game. Still waiting. Maybe with Dunbar back in the lineup we will.
