The outcome is not all. How the game unfolds will influence the pollsters. If Bama wins a close one, they'll stay on top and TAMU will drop a slot or two, provided their neighbors in the rankings win. If Bama dominates, TAMU will drop considerably more. If TAMU wins a close one, they will rise, maybe to the top slot, depending on the performances of other high ranked teams. Bama should stay in the top 5. If TAMU dominates, they should get the top slot, and Bama falls quite a few. Depending on the performance of the other top ranked teams, Bama will land just above or below 10.

If Bama loses they drop beyond 2, but that is not going to happen.

If Bama loses I think it should be:

1. Oregon
2. Texas A&M
3. Clemson
4. Ohio State
5. Stanford

But it also depends on by how much Bama loses by. If it's by less than a TD they will probably only drop to about 6 or 7. If it's by several TDs they might fall to as low as 12.

You called the poll response, Tinny, although A&M dropping 4 spots might be a bit further than you expected.

But here's the issue I've always had with the polls: isn't #6 supposed to lose to #1? YES! So now that they have, what is the logic in them falling to #10?
