NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 4 Bears at Detroit Lions
September 25, 2013, 04:44 PM
We are in "it" now. The season is in full swing, the Bears are undefeated, we are playing a division rival, and we BOTH have winning records thus this game is for FIRST place! Could the Bears need anything else to get them mentally ready for this game?

Lets start with the coaching, except for MAYBE Green Bay, we have the best Head coach in the division. I've watched this game for 50 years now and been a Bears fan all that time. I firmly believe that Marc Trestman is already in the top 3 of all time best coaches at Chicago. He knows the entire game, and especially knows how to get the players and coaches prepared week after week. Add in that NO ONE is going to out coach him and it really gets this team to thinking that we can win every week. Sure we won't, but he still makes the team THINK that they can.

Offense, well the Bears are finally proving that they have the players to score on anyone. Jay is finally earning the respect that he is a franchise QB! Every week we have seen improvements. The catches by Alshon Jefferies against Pitt. were HUGE. Now everyone, and the team, knows we have players that can play at EVERY position on offense.

Defense, well they are saying, "Hey we ARE good!", (And they are.) but secretly they are breathing a sigh of relief that they don't have to win all the games on their own now. Just keeping the other team from scoring more than we score, is all they have to do and the Bears will go FAR this season.

Special Teams, this is going to be the straw that breaks Detroit's back. Devin Hester is going to run wild on the Lions. Devin LOVES artificial turf! With him giving us what he can do, we really have a chance to go back to Chicago and face the Saints at 4-0.

So what do you think? Are you proud of our Bears now? Do you think Phil Emery was right in replacing Lovie now? Lets hear it!!! GO BEARS!!!

Hopefully Chicago can't avoid the 7-1 start and then fizzle out like last season, same players but the coach is different so that should dissuade from any complacency or second half of the season let down. Who would of thought that the Bears and Lions would look like legit NFC contenders. This is a big game for both, a tone setter in the division. Either way both these teams have defense so both teams should definitely still be in the mix come week 17. To me this game is a toss up

Who cares about Schwartz? The Bears will defeat the Lions no matter who their coach is.

You are right to a point, but this team is totally different. We have a great coach now. Yes I said it, "GREAT". He's proving it now and after the season, there will/are quite a few doubters! Of this I am totally aware but Trestman has what it takes. Unlike most NFL coaches.

This is why Lovie was replaced. Lovie is a good coach. Trestman is great. Just Trestman's attitude and how he orgainizes his practices are proof to me about that. Serious, businessman like, and the players know that they are working on things that they are to carry over to the game. They KNOW that if Marc wants them to learn or do something, it's for a reason and it's automatically considered by the players to be important.

Just look at the number of presnap penalties. Look at the number of holding calls and sack IMPROVEMENT over last year. Look at the play calling. LISTEN to the man at his interviews! Analytical describes the man. He knows what he's talking about and how to organize a team to be a winner.

I've watched football for 50 years and I have seen some greats. ONLY ONE MAN was more organized. And as far as I'm concerned there are only two Great coaches who changed the NFL in the last 35 years or so.

Who was that more organized coach oh... Don Shula. And the other NFL changing coach in my opinion in the last 35 years, Bill Walsh. I firmly believe that when it's all said and done, Marc Trestman will be considered right up there with those two NFL legends. Go BEARS!!!

Lions win 24-23, I really don't know but I think the Lions can upset them. Lions have a great passing game and the Bears are due for a loss. It's in Detroit, scary game.

if that happens it wouldn't bother me since we can all go tell Dribbles to ****!!!

BF,

Fans were saying the same thing with the 'new young guy' McD,[Broncos] back in 2009.

He looked like a genius for 6 strieght wins, then went for that whole spirling roller coster ride, too getting fired that same year.

At this very moment? marvin Lewis is 50/50 in his 10+years with Cincy. [that's part of what's got me worried about playing the Browns this week.]

The HUGE diffence, Trestman has two championships already. Granted they are CFL championships, but he's no unknown spring chicken either. I think the Bears will win in Detroit and probably suffer their first loss to N.O. !!! Go Bears!!!!

To me Drew Brees is just about the best QB in the NFL as long as he keeps his ints. down and doesn't try to carry the entire team.

Other than that Peyton Manning guy whoever he is. LOL Go Bears!!!
