NFL  > General NFL  > Who are the Elite QB's today as of Week 4?

Ok I think we would all agree that Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees are. Who is the 5th best QB in the league right now though? It sure isn't Ben, Eli, Flacco, or Ryan some of the common names. It may very well be Luck or Wilson at this point? QB's that at this point I would take Luck or Wilson over are Tannehill, Schaub, Dalton, Rivers, A.Smith, Romo, Vick, RG3, Cam, Cutler, Stafford, and Kaep just to mention other big names. A. Smith is 4-0 as a starter and I like what the Chiefs are doing but I am still not totally sold on A. Smith being a big time QB as in winning a Championship Game or SB.

After those top 4 it's a huge drop off to the next level. Don't get me wrong, Wilson and Luck and Kaepernick are among the better of that next group but they haven't won anything yet and it's still early in their careers, but I expect them to be the next group to replace the top group.

Based off just this season? Philip Rivers

Rivers is currently ranked behind only Peyton Manning in passer rating, completion percentage, and touchdowns.

(unless you count efficiency ratings of guys who have thrown less than 10 passes)

Although it helps when half those games were played against NFC East teams.

Hoyer has been surprisingly good. The Browns may finally have a decent QB.

He only has started one game and he wasn't stellar when he played for the Chiefs.

Because he's Matt Cassel.

We remember his stint as a Chief. Not pretty.
