NFL  > General NFL  > Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady

I am a diehard Colts fan but if those 2 played for the AFC Title I would be ok with it just for this year :). 2 legends that deserve to go against each other 1 last time. Peyton = 4 League MVP's most ever by anyone, 1 SB win, 1 SB MVP. Tom = 3 SB wins, 2 SB MVP's, 2 League MVP's. 2 of the very best and have been the center of my Football rooting career. I root against Tom but man he is unreal. I have so much respect for him. It will be a sad day when Tom and Peyton retire. I root for Peyton obviously but Luck and my Colts come first now, cant wait for Oct 27th when Peyton comes home. Does Peyton need to win the SB this season to clear all Post Season demons away to then be considered maybe the best ever or Top 3? As many say he chokes alot or is his 1 SB win enough to say he is one of the Top 3 best already considering his 4 League MVP's and SB MVP + his stats?

Patooey! I'm not ok with that, and they don't deserve anything yet. They'll deserve it if they earn it. It may be inevitable and if it happens, well ok . . . and yes, one should respect both of those guys and I do, but I don't want them in the SB to be sure. And as for Manning, "home" is Denver now. If he puts up 3 or 4 more solid years and a SB or 2 he may enter the HOF as a Bronco, no?

Anyway, I get what you're saying. It would be a great AFC championship game to watch. But dang, I'm ready for a changing of the guard. :)

There aren't any other qb's who can step up to that level yet, so a changing of the guard is at least a few more years from now.

Haha! Not any time soon, or probably ever I'm afraid. Rivers has put up amazing numbers so far this year, but not enough Ws. Whatever the reason for it, I'm just happy to see him back lighting it up after a couple of years hiatus.

But no, we can't crown his arse, or Romo's, any time soon.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees are the only elite QB's in the NFL but there are a few younger guys that could rise to their level in the next few years

Peyton probably will get his number retired by both teams if he wins a SB in Denver, although 18 was already retired by the Broncos as it was Frank Tripuka's number but Tripuka gave him permission to wear #18. He played 14 season's with Indy throughout his prime and won 4 MVP's and a SB and SB MVP with Indy so he is a Colt All-Time no matter what he does in Denver.

@Ripper, it's not like Peyton pulled a LeBron and left his city high and dry without winning anything in his prime. Peyton stayed for 14 years and it was Irsay that wanted the change because Luck was there waiting to be drafted. LeBron's number should be retired as a Heat that I will say because he's won with them and he only played 7 seasons with the Cavs.

i hope everyone's enjoying both peyton and brady's accomplishments = they both might be leaving US within the next 4 yrs.,......~ENJOY~.....!

Yeah it's great stuff! If the Colts cant or don't win it I will be rooting for Peyton too. Peyton was the Colts and gave the city of Indianapolis a SB win and tons of great moments. Very classy guy too. I would love to see Broncos/Pats in a Title Game if Indy cant be in it just to see Peyton and Tom battle again for all the marbles. Who know though young Luck may have a say in this?

That we have, and on the other end of the spectrum I've gotten to also be witness to the mess down here.

It's kind of slim pickings as to what the new group will be, other than Luck, Wilson and Kappy. I thought Matt Ryan would get there but it seems he is stuck in neutral. I also would have though RGIII after last year and he may eventually get there but his injury has really derailed his progress. I need more coffee so that's all I got for now, lol.
