NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > best recieving corp in Cowboys history?

Witten,Dez,Williams and Beasly are the best group since the days of Thrill hill,Pearson and Butch Johnson. Beasley catches everything and is always open. Williams is putting up some outrageous numbers for a rookie. Witten is a future hall of famer. There is no reason why Romo should not put up 300-400 yards every game. I had to leave Austin off my list as he is not the future. The future looks great as Dez,Williams and Beasly will terrorize secondarys for a long time.

on a side note: WTF we we thinking when we drafted Escoba?. He is horrible.

If they had any kind of running game I would probably agree with you on what Romo should be able to do. Good you left Miles 'my hammy' Austin off your list. You can't catch passes from the sideline.

How could you ever leave out Irvin and Novacek (swoons)....must either be really young or a new found Dallas fan.

In the list of top 10 receivers in Cowboys history, based on receptions, 4 played together - Irvin, Smith, Novacek and Johnston.

what a group..... that whole team - just a pro bowl group!
and miles austin.... he is stealing money. and starting to wonder if murray is following the same path. injury is certainly part of this game, but year after year is unacceptable. and murray never played a full season in college..... no wonder he was available for JJ to steal!

Lance Rentzel and world's fastest human Bob Hayes, The Bullet, and Ditka.

Bob Hayes, Lance Alworth, Ditka.

T.O., Witten, Crayton were good too, as were T.O./Terry Glenn/Crayton.

October 22, 2013  02:52 PM ET

Alworth just had a cup of coffee in Dallas at the end of his career, but hey he caught a TD pass in the SB. And Crayton? Ok, I admit i just took a bit hit on the crack pipe before I posted that. haha. But T.O. had a couple of big years as I recall.

I agree that the Cowboys need a decent RB to open up the passing game and keep opposing defenses honest. A good RB would allow Romo to utilize the play action pass to freeze defenses.

Crayton? Yeah..I think you had a long hit on the crack pipe.

So we'll just let that Crayton comment slide and chalk it up to the crack, right?? ;-)

Lance Rentzel and world's fastest human Bob Hayes,

My old school proposals too; different era where there might be 25 ATTEMPTS per game. These guys played together three years. Hayes at 20 yrds/catch and Rentzel pulling in at 19 yards/catch. These guys can't compete in today's measurement of yards per game. But imagine trying to pick your poison in defending these two guys.

1992 Boys = Irvin, Harper, Novacek. Irvin alone makes that the best. Irvin is Top 5 ever IMO regarding WR's.

October 23, 2013  03:42 AM ET

Witten, Williams, Bryant and Beasley is formidable and I'm glad their finally starting to throw to Beasley, not to throw any Wes Welker comparisons yet, but...

And Romo has more time in the pocket and isn't getting sacked as much, finally got an Oline or at least a facsimile of one.

Two very win-able games coming up with Detroit and Minnesota before what's sure to be another high scoring slugfest against Nawlins (look for similar score of the Dallas/Denver game).

With or without the crack, Irvin was a beast on and off the field IMO.
