NFL  > Oakland Raiders  > 2013 WEEK #11 PICKS
November 12, 2013, 07:17 PM
THURSDAY NOV 14

INDIANAPOLIS ( 6-3 ) @ tennessee ( 4-5 ) - Colts were rocked by St. Louis, Tennessee allowed Jacksonville their 1st win and lost Jake Locker for the season.

SUNDAY NOV 17

NYJ'S ( 5-4 ) @ buffalo ( 3-7 ) - coming off of a BYE WEEK the Jets are still in the playoff hunt

ATLANTA ( 2-7 ) @ tampa bay ( 1-8 ) Tampa has a 1 game winning streak which is more than Atlanta. Atlanta will make Gonzalez proud that he came back [sarc]

DETROIT ( 6-3 ) @ pittsburgh ( 3-6 ) Motown melts the Steelers dreams .

washington ( 3-6 ) @ PHILADELPHIA ( 5-5 ) We have a playoff hunt in the NFC East but Phillies cream rises above Washington.

SAN DIEGO ( 4-5 ) @ miami ( 4-5 ) Chances are neither will make the playoffs but Miami has to many internal problems that probably led to Tampa beating them.

baltimore ( 4-5 ) @ CHICAGO ( 5-4 ) This is the perfect opportunity for Chicago to put some separation between them and Green Bay.

cleveland ( 4-5 ) @ CINCINNATI ( 6-4 ) Cincinnati lost a heart break come from behind in OT last week against Baltimore. Home field advantage goes to Cincinnati.

OAKLAND ( 3-6 ) @ houston ( 2-7 ) It seems like Houston has given up and is maneuvering to get high up in the draft in order to get a QB - Would they draft David Carrs little brother?

ARIZONA ( 5-4 ) @ jacksonville ( 1- 8 ) First Houston and now Jacksonville Arizona has a chance to catch the 49ers.

kansas city ( 9-0 ) @ DENVER ( 8-1 ) Will Bowe play after being arrested, how are Mannings legs ? Unless Manning throws pick 6's like his little brother, Denver will win.

minnesota ( 2-7 ) @ SEATTLE (9-1) At the beginning of the season this was supposed to be a marque game. Well Harvin has been activated so the media has something to talk about, but I doubt he'll play.

49ers ( 6-3 ) @ NEW ORLEANS ( 7-2 ) At the beginning of the season I picked the 49ers to win this game. For some reason the 49ers cannot get healthy. 6 players get healthy last week and 5 players get injured in one game. I've had it with Greg Roman and I want him gone. He is destroying the offense. 2 weeks ago before the Jacksonville game the 49ers made a roster move and I declared then that the 49ers would not go to the Super Bowl, now I have my doubts they will make the playoffs.

green bay ( 5-4 ) @ NYG'S ( 3-6 ) Both teams are fighting for their playoff hopes. A loss here will probably prevent Rodger from coming back this season, for what?

MONDAY NOV 18

new england ( 7-2 ) @ CAROLINA ( 6-3 ) Carolina will be riding the wave of confidence the 49ers gave them in their win last week. True New England was my favorite to win this at the beginning of the year. Home field advantage wins this game.

My winners:
Colts, man I am worried about this one though. Losing Reggie is bad! A Colts win gives them huge margin for error the rest of the season which they may need as they still play at Chiefs and at Bengals but a win pretty much will sew up the Division unless the Colts just totally collapse. Texans 2-7 and Titans would be 4-6 while Indy would be 7-3.
Jets over Bills
Bucs over Falcons
Lions over Steelers
Eagles over Skins
Chargers over Dolphins
Bears over Ravens
Bengals over Browns
Texans over Raiders
Cards over Jags
Broncos over Chiefs
Seahawks over Vikings
Saints over 49ers - 49ers looking at 6-4
Giants over Packers - Giants looking at 4 straight wins!
Panthers, sorry Marge, a great Monday Night game for once. Tom will have his hands full!

November 12, 2013  08:20 PM ET

The more I look at the 49ers upcoming game this week against New Orleans the more importance it really seems to play on the 49ers season. The 49ers blew their chance to win a tiebreaker against Carolina. Losing to New Orleans would probably take away any chance for the 49ers without some sort of miracle to make the playoffs, and so far this season they haven't had to many lucky breaks.

I think Green Bay chances of making the playoffs are close to coming to an end and the probability of Detroit winning the North is becoming more likely because of the remaining strength of schedule. Green Bay is the only tie breaker the 49ers control so far and I doubt it will come into use. A win against New Orleans would keep the 49ers in the playoff hunt.

New Orleans remaining schedule ; 49ers, @ ATL, @SEA, Carolina, StL, @ Carolina, TB.
49ers remaining schedule : @NO, @WASH, StL, SEA, @TB, ATL, @AZ

INDIANAPOLIS @ tennessee ~ not expecting the Colts to stink it up against a team that couldn???t beat Jacksonville.

NYJ'S @ buffalo ~ as usual Buffalo is done and it???s a division game.

Atlanta @ TAMPA BAY ~ Falcons right now are worse than Tampa

DETROIT @ pittsburgh ~ a bad Steelers secondary gets grossly exposed.

washington @ PHILADELPHIA ~ after this game Washington???s name will be the least of their problems.

SAN DIEGO @ miami ~ Chargers defense played pretty well against Peyton last week.

baltimore @ CHICAGO ~ most likely this will be decided by a FG.

cleveland @ CINCINNATI ~ this has the makings of a very ugly, sloppy game

Oakland @ HOUSTON ~ Houston almost came back to beat a pretty good AZ team last week and Oakland sucks!

ARIZONA @ jacksonville ~ Jacksonville had their day in the sun, won???t happen again.

kansas city @ DENVER ~ gotta go with the home team but I think it will be close.

minnesota @ SEATTLE ~ after Seattle totally dismantled Atlanta last week this should be easier.

49ers @ NEW ORLEANS ~ Saints are starting to cook.

green bay @ NYG ~ this should be a wonderful slopfest.

NEW ENGLAND @ Carolina ~ Pats are always good coming off the bye. Hopefully they get a few guys back.

OBD,

I can't understand why 2 of the most prolific posters, Mother and Jim got tosed.

Over some troll.

It's kind of like the NFL. The guy who starts something never gets the flag, it's the one that always responds that takes the penalty. I guess the lesson is don't be taken in by a troll, since that is their sole reason for showing up here.

TH,

Vontaze Burfict,is a prime example of that also,he talks s/it too the peeps he hits and they knock him down and they get the penalty.

I likesd the kid,as soon as they drafted him as an UDFA.

He's been the lynch pin of the D since Geno Atkins went out with a SEInjury.

expect a crapload of no-huddle plays. Pats can't afford to let the D settle in and take off.

The Panthers are hot right now, gonna see ifn they can sustain it.

BL,

I went on a limb with my picks, but figure, the way this season has played out?

Anythings possible.

I even picked against Cincy.

Cuz at the moment? They stink.

Panthers are my surprise of the NFL at 6-3, Falcons and Texans are my 2 flop's of the year so far. The Jets at 5-4 have been a lot better than I thought too and obviously I don't think anyone thought KC would be 9-0.

Yeah EZ, My Colts and your Bengals looked like serious contenders a couple weeks ago but both have stunk it up lately. Even the Colts comeback vs the Texans was LUCKY :). Good thing for us is the other teams in our Divisions stink. Titans losing to the Jags was sweet.
