Which number will he wear? His 24 with Yanks was Griffey's with M's.

Don't know why you can't link here, but one source @ yahoo mentioned that Cano was not happy playing for the Yanks anyway. Did not like batting second among other things.

Hiya Clem! Remember, 24 was Griffey's number...oh, you just said that, lol. I have no idea... something tells me he'll change it, but who knows? I don't know that much about his ego. Guess he does atleast like boatloads of $$$$$$$ tho!

Hey Marcia,

Word is Cano was quite the leader on the Dominican Republic team, not so with Yanks (with Jeter there). Now sporting a beard, I think he is happy to leave Yankee land. We do need another good bat (righty) to protect. We know he will bat third for us.

22 was Cano's original number with the Yankees. He switched to 24 when Clemens came back; the bonus was that it was the reverse of 42, the number of his namesake Jackie Robinson.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Cano seems like a sincerely good person. We have our two leaders now. Felix and Cano.

Winning one world championship in Seattle will be worth more than 5 anywhere else.

It is coming!

I feel the same,Clem7.

"I want a championship in M's nowhere else". Felix said that and sign the extension contract with M's.
"I'm going to retire as a Mariner". Cano said that today.

We are going to have two superstars for years to come.
Having those players in the organization is not easy for any teams.
I think that Jack Z is doing a good job.

Jack Z has built a foundation of the team which is good minor league system.
Now he starts building a real contender team in major level.

I'm looking forward to seeing more moves which happens for sure in the next couple of weeks.
Things are looking good!
