NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 14 Monday Night Football. Dallas at Chicago
December 8, 2013, 02:44 AM
Well, well, well. Is this a "must" game for the Bears? Do the Bears have to win out to make the playoffs? Can the Bear's offense over come their defensive weaknesses?

How about the Cowboys? Can Tony Romo and the Cowboys have a great game that can propel them to the playoffs and beyond? Can the Cowboys weak run game take advantage of the Bear's defense? How about this Boy's defense, can it stop the Bears offense?

For most of this season things in Chicago have been backwards. Offense has been carrying the Bears!!! Huh??? This game will be the one to tell us Bear fans just what the Bears are made of this season. Just how bad our injuries have hurt us and just how well our offense can abuse the Cowboy's defense.

We will see. GO BEARS!!!!

A Chicago win will really put a damper in Dallas's playoff hopes. It will give them a tiebreaker over Dallas if the 2 were to tie for the #6 seed.

Chicago has a couple of things going for it. Home field and Dallas's history of not showing up in December.

The weather is supposed to be windy and cold too! Two other things that won't help the Cowboys.

Another thing is the natural turf field. I don't know what the Cowboys usually play on, but in this kind of weather in the evening, the field can often get slick and it can slow down players who are not used to it or who don't have the proper cleats. Let us Bear fans hope this helps. LOL

GO BEARS!!!

The honor my friend EZ has been mine. You are a class act and I try to live up to your standard. :) Go Bears!!!

With the UNEXPECTED loss the Lions had against the Eagles today, the Bears can TIE for first place with the Lions with a win over the Cowboys. I expect this to happen.

What worries me is that I think the Bears MUST win out to clinch the divison. AND the Lions MUST lose one more time to give the Bears the division title since the Lions hold the tiebreaker of two head to head wins over the Bears. GRRRRRR!!!! The Lions losing another game is possible with the Ravens on their schedule yet to come.

Looking at the schedule, it looks possible for the Bears, but the LAST game against the Packers will be very hard. Possible, but I just am NOT counting on it. OH how I wold love it, but still if Rogers and Cutler are both back, with all the Bears defensive injuries, it's doubtful that the Bears would win in my eyes. However a win against the Packers putting us in the playoffs would be soooo sweet!!! Much better than the Bears giving away the games with Lovie to the Packers!!! I'm still upset about that!

But if the Bears can get on a 3 game winning streak, we really could get some things working our way. Doubtful? Yes, but I'm NOT selling my Bears out yet. GO BEARS!!!!

Hmm rumors about Jay Cutler going to Tennessee, I would consider that for Jake Locker and TWO #1 picks!!! Just something that I'm sure Phil Emery will be considering! Considering that we have a QB guru for our coach, I'm not worried about what ever the Bears decide to do. The only thing that does bother me is that Jay has a year in the tank, so starting Locker off from scratch would be a factor to consider. GO BEARS!!!

Cowboys get their defensive leader, Sean Lee back! That will be enough.

December 9, 2013  07:17 PM ET

I'm glad someone from ONE of the two teams is confident TxHeat. LOL But I think you are wrong and the Dallas December demon will strike again. GO BEARS!!!

December 9, 2013  07:49 PM ET

All trends eventually end and I think the Cowboys finally stomp on their December Demons!

December 9, 2013  08:51 PM ET

JUST KEEP RUNNING THE DAMN BALL!! GO COWBOYS!!!

I thought Cutler was a free agent after this season.

He is. But I would sign him then trade him. LOL I don't have the emotional ties they do. LOL So I'm heartless. GO BEARS!!!

Were those really the Chicago Bears out there? Which someplace (I think with 3 min Left) in the 4th quarter the announcer said that the Bears had scored on EVERY possession???

The Defense gave up over 100 yards again for the 6th game in a row, but when the offense is that proficient, it really doesn't matter. Absolutely amazing!!!

AT Cleveland next. The cold won't bother us, and we MIGHT get BOTH Cutler and Lance BRIGGS back! That's both the offensive and defensive leaders!!! When Lance Briggs went out, the opponent's rushing total DOUBLED!!!

If they Bears can get some players healed and back, we really could surprise some people. But if they don't they could lose the next 3 weeks. Lets hope we see more repeats of this Cowboys game this season. Starting in Cleveland. GO BEARS!!!

It's called an unpredictable season. Ive never seen a season quite like this one as in good teams laying eggs in certain weeks. I wouldn't doubt if the Browns beat the Bears next week that's how silly this season has been! Vikings beat them. After watching the Jets beat the Pats, Rams smoke Indy in Indy by 30, and the Saints get smoked 34-7 with the great Drew Brees eventhough against Seattle, I have just told myself to expect the unexpected in reality.

What a savage beatdown...Sorry Bull

buddhaa I agree it's be a Topsy Turvy season LOL. However it's late in the season where teams often jell and become what they are SUPPOSED to be. IF and I capitalize that IF the Bears can keep their offense going AND Lance Briggs comes back and can add some stability to the defense, the Bears could really be a DECENT team!!!

I KNOW those are HUGE if's, but I really drink the Mark Trestman and Phil Emery koolaide. I think they are EASILY the BEST combination the Bears have had since Ditka and Jim Finks. I would NOT be surprised at either the Bears making the Playoffs and possibly winning ONE or TWO games, OR them NOT making the playoffs.

Both of these are 100% possibilities to me. I will enjoy EITHER one since if we get to the playoffs great, and if we lose, we will be getting just that better of a draft choice. This is the FUN of the NFL and we will just have to watch to find out. Either way I expect this team in the playoffs and making a run for the Super Bowl NEXT Season barring injuries!!!

Injuries, wow the dirty word for the Bears this season, but with another OFF Season acquisition period for Phil Emery and he MIGHT just be able to get us enough backups to withstand the expected injuries that a team ALWAYS has during a season! GO BEARS!!!

I really wish Romo could get the Monkeys off his back. I feel so sorry for him. A quality QB with a terrible name.
