NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > IS J. HARBAUGH GOING TO TAKE THE TEXAS JOB ?
December 12, 2013, 04:31 PM
First of all you have to ask which Harbaugh are we talking about; Jack, John, or Jim ?

The only logical one would be Jack.

Personally I think these rumors are all being started by Pete Carroll. First there was the rumor about Jim Harbaugh going to USC, now Texas. Texas has said they would be willing to pay Harbaugh $10 million per year. That is more than most NFL coaches.

The day Texas cedes from the Union, that will be the day Harbaugh takes the Texas job. Not realizing that all Texas schools would no longer be part of the NCAA if they ceded.

All of them?

December 12, 2013  05:24 PM ET

Successful NFL coaches don't go back to college.

December 12, 2013  07:02 PM ET

Jim Harbaugh is made to Coach the very best as in the Pro's. He has a possible SB contender. He isn't going anywhere.

Rumor started by Pete Carroll? Really?

Another conspiracy theory.

Yea, he's not going anywhere.

No way he leaves SF to go to Texas. College ball is 12 month/yr job with recruiting. Pros get a bit of time off. Foolish to think this might happen

NO!!! That's as simple as I can say it.

I agree the whole thing is laughable.

The person who brought it to Harbaughs attention was some dork Matt Barrows who writes for the Sacramento Bee and calls himself the 49er insider. Apparently his inside information is not very trustworthy. On several occasions I have caught him making irrational assumptions. He never once retracted his story.

December 13, 2013  02:22 PM ET

He has no ties or connections to Texas that I know of.

Jim Harbuagh turned down the meeeechegan job, and he went there. For that reason alone I don't think he has any interest in the college game...at least not right now.

This Barrows guys sounds like an "agitator" who just wants hit on his blog, site, local newspaper etc....he wants people to follow the link and doesn't care how. Media is full of those guys (hell they drop in here sometimes) and it makes finding real and researched journalism harder and harder to find. SO often I go to "bloggingtheboys" and "thelandryhat" and try and find Dallas news and it is written by contributors no better than me who just fill up the pages.....it is all c.rap

You're right and that is why this Rumor is so laughable. To me the whole thing sounds like a rumor that an agent would float amongst the media so as to drive up the price for his client.

Agents are notorious for spreading rumors.
