I guess the Holiday season is not over, this is one heck of gift to the Lions, Packers and Vikings, the secondaries of those teams should send him a nice gift basket.

So much for the "Keep Him/Don't Keep Him" conundrum.

Darn! I was looking forward to the daily T&R post on this until he signed.

I'm surprised the Bears re-signed him with all the good QB's available for the 2014 Draft...

And with their receiver duo, they can suit up just about anyone at QB.

hahahahaha!!!!

Hell no! 6 years?

Maybe a 1-2 year deal,as they got other problems other than QB.

But,in all fairness Cincy's QB is Bi-Polar ,just hopes the 'good Andy's shows up around next game.

oops!! SEVEN. sorry.

How does this surprise people? He would have got even more from another team. You don't pay for what they have done, you pay for what you think they can do and based on the market. This is his first year with an offense first coach and true talent. Eli stafford and flacco all get similar and all played seasons worse then cutler ever did. It's not a 7 year commitment, it's 3. Guaranteed is all that matters. Show me another plan with higher odds of paying off in 3 years? You can talk about the great draft class, people thought Blaine Gabbert would be good. They can draft and groom and young guy in 2 or 3 years anyway.

Which QB in the draft, who is drafted 14th could compete at Jay Cutler's level. Which direction at QB were the Bears going in without Cutler...all BS from the Media.

Last year it was Romo. There are not that many good QB's in the NFL...when you get one, you sign him and shutup.

Plus they needed to change the subject after 4th and 8...

I think management realized that the defense is the real underlying problem.

Cutler is a poor man's Brett Favre.

January 3, 2014  07:13 PM ET

I hope they cover some slots depleted for awhile ,and get some depth.

I agree about "What you think they can do". part I just hope he does live up too it.

This is the smart play with the guru Mark Trestman coaching him Jay will become a top 5 QB in the NFL. Especially once the OLD timers Payton Manning and Tom Brady retire. Go BEARS!!!!

February 14, 2014  01:58 PM ET

7 year extension that he can get out of in just 3 years. Grrr.

GO BEARS!!!

The problem with Cutler is that he can't stay healthy.
