NFL  > General NFL  > 49ers at Seahawks (Sunday, 1/19/14 - 6:30 p.m. ET)

For the NFC Championship and a trip to the SB. Another great match-up. Third time is a charm for one of these two. The edge has to go to the 'hawks at home.

But I predict 23-20, 49ers win in OT. Close game, gutting it out.

The last 4 meetings the home team has won. Gotta go with the Seahawks.

Another reason to go with the visitor maybe? Odds are a visitor will win in this match-up eventually? Hard for me to find any solid reason the 49ers should win this game, other than they are a very good team with a very good defense. But so are the Seahawks and they're at home where they rarely lose. In what should be a tight game, things can happen. A turnover can be the difference, and I think it will be. Not very scientific . . .haha.

Not true actually, TX. The Niners swept the Seahawks not last season, but the one before. But home field is definitely an advantage for sure. But I feel like the Niners will be ready for this one.

I watched the replay of the week 2 game between these two teams, and despite the one sided 29-3 score, it was really a handful of bad decisions and unlucky breaks that doomed the Niners. I expect they are hungry for revenge and don't make those same mistakes this go round.

And as dumb as I normally am, I was especially dumb after correcting you when you were correct. For whatever reason, I thought you meant the last for meetings in Seattle. My bad!

Or four.

Actually that is the reason we all watch, it is always some key player getting hurt or some turnover that will decide these league championship games.

Buffalo over the Raiders 48-3 back around 1990 was over before the in 1st qtr ended but those games are rare.

I remember about 10 years ago or so this couple came in and the guy was placing a bet and his wife started grilling him about why he was picking so and so. Well she thought it was all garbage so she grabs a parley card (dumb way to bet) and picks 10 home teams with no reasoning whatsoever except they were the home teams.
She hit a 9 out 10 for a 300 to 1 payout. She only put $1.00 on it but it was still hilarious, so Ripper there is no science involved, just luck.

I think both games will be very close, all the teams are even. The best 4 are in it, Colts with Reggie Wayne would've been there but it is what it is ;-) Seahawks are 1 of the best teams at home Ive ever seen.

Duke,

Cincy kicked thierasses in their own house a couple of years back also,so they have frails, like any other team.

I find my self at a cross roads with the 9nrs for beating us in the SB.

But,will root for yer team cuz it's yers.

January 16, 2014  07:58 PM ET

As far as the AFC? either team could beat the other, But i'm gonna go with the Pats, although a SB win by Peyton would be his "farewell' ,and maybe retire.

BL,

With the QB you have? Add a couple of OLmen, and hope Trent does a lot better than he, got for yer 1st rnd pick.

January 16, 2014  08:05 PM ET

oops! beating us twice!

Tom Brady has done very well in head to head contests versus Peyton Manning... Patriots by seven...

I can only imagine if we had Wayne in that game, having said that Colts still couldn't stop the run but the mistakes Andrew made may of not of been there had he had Wayne. Colts need to get better on the O.Line and D.Line and hope Wayne stays healthy, if that happens maybe next season the Colts will advance even farther. Trent has been disappointing but to his defense the O.Line is mediocre at best, stinks at times. I know people will say why can Donald Brown run good then, my answer is he was a lot more healthier than Trent and he's faster. Trent needs the type of Line that is bigger because he's a power back.
