NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > "How To Ruin a Website" ... by CNN/Sports Illustrated

Just what we need CNN/SI/FanNation ... more pop-ups to further slow things down. There is not enough bandwidth on any network to handle the volume of crap you're pushing. I didn't think it could get any worse but it just did.

Just so you know, major corporate firewalls are blocking most of your videos and animated banners, displaying "Security Warnings" in their placeholders. Sometimes it doesn't even get that far because the junk being pushed from visualrevenue.com, widgets.outbrain.com, and golf.com (to name a few) are blocked as well and the pages just hang without completely loading.

You've ruined CNNMoney in similar fashion (you gave it a "video initiative" too didn't you?). Folks get the same hangups and security warnings in place of the links, vids, banners, etc. Way to go CNN ... you just alienated millions of customers trying to view your content from their workstations.

When have they ever made a coding change for the better?

This is why I feel absolutely no guilt for using AdBlock. Sites that treat me with respect get white listed. All others have their ads sent to the bit bucket.

There's a text you ought to acquire, "Reading for Meaning in Elementary School." It's old, but the message is still valid. If you'd bothered to read the board topper for comprehension, you'd have noticed that "millions" includes visitors to CNN, SI, FanNation, and CNNMoney.

CNNMoney is lame. Not really as lame as FN, but there are better alternatives to CNNMoney. Try Bloomberg.
